Who else thinks the next re-issue will be the best?

I think people are pre-counting their chickens here.

I know the original plan was to re-issue the first 3 albums. People who are expecting it to continue may be in for a disappointment. They already reduced the scale of the project by combining Vs & Vitalogy into one set and limited production and sales for the Super Deluxe to 10C. I doubt there'd be enough demand for further re-issues to justify their release. No matter how much I may love No Code and Yield, I'm not foolish enough to believe they were commercially successful when they were originally released.

The guy that runs the 10c said on the sirius show a few weeks ago that they were excited about making the next box set (no code/yield) but that they had a lot of stuff going on before they could start this project (i.e., PJ 20 festival, EV solo album/tour, PJ tour). So, he pretty much confirmed there will be one.

The original plan was to re-issue all the albums over 2 years culminating this year. Clearly that didn't happen. If there is to be another re-issue it won't be for a few years at least. I certainly think people shouldn't be thinking its set in stone that there will be more re-issues.

the next reissue will be the first one that i buy. i have nothing against Ten or V/V, but No Code & Yield are easily my favorite records of theirs. not sure how super the superdeluxe will be, but i know that i'll love it.
    I LOVE MUSIC.

  • it would be amazing if that not-to-be-named-movie was made available or some footage from that time, a show or something
the extra releases of shows, unreleased tracks are the reason I buy the reissues on cd

i agree with some others though - i would prefer a new album. I've got nothing against the reissues but being a person who only cares for the music, the extra stuff with it doesn't interest me. And the albums (all of them, including Ten,Vs,Vitalogy) sounded perfect to me anyway so I don't see how they can improve on perfection.

The only reason I care about these re-issues at all is so that I can now buy the vinyls for a decent price.

If they are re-releasing everything in this time frame, LO2L would also be included which would definitely make this one the best, at least IMO.

Yeah i would assume that they would include LO2L...but they have to give us something new right?

It would be quite the set if it included Merkinball/No Code/Yield/LO2L and hopefully a blu-ray/dvd from the 96 era.

Some people are saying that Pj are ripping fans off with the re issues. Would i be right in saying that Epic own the rights to all PJ material up to any including Riot Act. i think that Epic are trying to make cash by re issuing old material as Pj have no real say.

i wish i wish i wish i wish, i guess it never stops

No Pearl Jam is highly involved with these re-releases.

And nobody's forcing us to buy them.

I'm more excited about the next re-issue because of the likelihood of there being deeper, unknown cuts associated w/ the release(s).

On the flip side, the photos and other art from the previous releases were especially exciting to see since the digital era had not completely blown up at that point in time.

One interesting point to consider is the frequency with which the reissues are released. Due to the time lapse between the actual release of the albums, any reissues beyond those already on shelves (92/93 and 94/95) are going to rapidly be catching up with the present tense. The relevancy of the reissue diminshes in direct proportion with the proximity of time b/t the original are reissue releases IMO. I can see No Code and Yield reissues seeing the light of day in the not too distant future, but beyond that is seems like the remaining albums still need some time to marinade.

I really don't care if it takes a year or two I just think it's gonna happen eventually and it will be awesome, how awesome is it gonna be to hear an old school, professionally mixed version of present tense?

For me, I don't think I'll appreciate anything as much as the Ten Redux disc as far as these reissues go. That said, I liked Vs/Vitalogy and look forward to the next one.
