I think that era is the most unknown of an I love eddies voice in the no code/yield years, and some awesome setlists to pick from

I think it will be the best because No Code and Yield are my 2 favorite PJ albums and I would love to have them on vinyl :)

I'm not sure. I think it depends on the amount of unused material.

The Vs./Vitalogy set had less collectible stuff and was shy a dvd from the ten set. Hopefully the trend is to go back up to including a dvd. There would be so many cool shows from the '98 tour they could include. I was really hoping at a minimum they'd include the "1995 movie that shall not be named".

I hope it kicks ass, but I'll try and keep my expectations low.

I guess the other part, is those ablums (like vs/vitalogy) already sound pretty damned good, they don't really need to remastered (they were made at the height of mastering, before the loudness war).

For me personally this current set is the best. Vs and Vitalogy have always been my two favorite albums.

I have to disagree with you about the DVD, I liked the orpheum way more than the DVD because I had already seen all of that on YouTube with (IMO) better sound quality (cmon they take out eddies little snarl before even flow), and also I liked the new outtakes better than the ones from ten, solat was just a crappier recording of the same song (although cool to hear Dave k), same with breath, I wasn't a big brother fan, already had just a girl in my 93 boxset and the last 2 were more or less jokes, I like them but not as much as the 93-95
  • Would you rather have them release a special show on vinyl for the next box set like Orpheum/Drop in the Park or re-release Live on Two Legs?

I'm just happy I don't have to spend hundreds on the LPs, anything extra is just that, extra.

i'm very very freakin' excited for the NoC/Y box set, but it also has the biggest chance of letting me down.

I've already got the vinyl. No big deal there.
I already have a ton of the boots, both downloaded and old 90's trader boots on CD. And they've already shown that they won't be doing FULL SHOWS in the boxs, just edited down. Which i really think sucks. Not a 10C rip, just speaking my mind as a massive fan of this band. I didn't buy the Vs/Vit box because the Orpheum show wasn't full. Only reason.
I don't think there is going to be much in the way of "vault material"/unreleased songs.
I highly doubt there will be a "PJ Movie" DVD. Maybe if we're lucky we'll get a re-edited short movie of performances. This would be outstanding.

Easily my 2 favorite PJ albums. My favorite live era. My favorite drummer (we love Jack Irons, oh yes we do).

But...Can and will they include something that blows our minds?

    Hope SO!!!

    cheers

I will be excited for that, as No Code is one of my favorite Pearl Jam albums. I do think that the Merkinball EP should be added into the re-release as well.

Curious on whether it's been officially stated somewhere that they'll release a No Code/Yield box set and if so what the time frame is they're potentially looking to release it. I would also be curious to get everyone's thoughts on whether they'll do this for Binaural & Riot Act as I believe that would be a cool box set to have.

From my perspective if these box sets are truly in the works to be released then it would have to be sometime soon as their 20th anniversary is quickly approaching. One would have to imagine they would want to release them before that time, right? Thoughts?

Its a bit weird people getting excited about re-issue boxsets I think. I'd rather have a new album. At the end of the day these re-issues are just a cash cow. Paint it how you want but Pearl Jam Inc aren't doing fans a favour by releasing these sets, just ripping us off.

If the plan is to release these boxsets I hope we get a new album first and then No Code/Yield in a couple of years time.

im tending to go along with you on this .ok i cant afford this new box set but thats not the reason i agree with you its the fact that it came SO close to the LOTL box set . how long from now is it going to be before the next code/yield box set comes out and after that is it going to be binaural/riot act box set all in this year sorry but that is cashing in and not very pearl jamish :lolno:
    just my opinion ;)

I was thinking about this alot this weekend. I think the main question is "What show will they pick to put on vinyl?" I think one of the easy picks would be Randall's Island. Of course, that will depend on the quality of the recording they have of this show. I really think the extra songs will be in the same vain as Vs/Vitalogy set, because they put out most of the unreleased stuff on Lost Dogs.

I think people are pre-counting their chickens here.

I know the original plan was to re-issue the first 3 albums. People who are expecting it to continue may be in for a disappointment. They already reduced the scale of the project by combining Vs & Vitalogy into one set and limited production and sales for the Super Deluxe to 10C. I doubt there'd be enough demand for further re-issues to justify their release. No matter how much I may love No Code and Yield, I'm not foolish enough to believe they were commercially successful when they were originally released.

The guy that runs the 10c said on the sirius show a few weeks ago that they were excited about making the next box set (no code/yield) but that they had a lot of stuff going on before they could start this project (i.e., PJ 20 festival, EV solo album/tour, PJ tour). So, he pretty much confirmed there will be one.

Also my fav period. I can see the project continuing through the next 2 albums at least.. if only as a Super Deluxe version through the 10C :D Sure No Code and Yield weren't the greatest commercial success stories compared with Vs/Vitalogy but there is definitely demand shown on these here Forum pages.

I'd like to see the return of a DVD component and as far as bonus tracks go I say bring on anything, the more the merrier... those "joke" songs on the Ten reissue added to my appreciation of PJ. Bonus tracks don't have to be lost nuggets of gold!

If they are re-releasing everything in this time frame, LO2L would also be included which would definitely make this one the best, at least IMO.
