    I would be interested in attendind/assisting. Not to get anyone's hopes up but I may have an extra ticket to the show. Having trouble finding a suitable campanion for the show. So I'll probably end up coming alone. I usually just randomly give away my extra ticket but with 10 Club permission I guess we could raffle it off.

    count me in and I can organize the pre-party location.

    I have had some experiences at pre-parties for PJ concerts (St Paul, Chicago, Mansfield, and Hartford), but what I don't know is how we rent some of these spaces. I can call around and see if any of these places will be able to "donate" space for us, but does anyone know if there is usually a charge associated with these pre-parties and how that is paid? Does the Wishlist Foundation cover all of those expenses, or do we as fans need to "donate" to cover the cost.

    I hope to use my "skills" when talking about this great fundraiser to the owners (or organizers) of the bars around downtown and possibly get them to give the space to us for free. I can start there and then if I can't find any where that would allow us to pre-party for free, we can discuss.

    Rock Bottom Brewery in downtown Minneapolis is close to the venue (same street) and is a good joint.

    Yeah, maybe we can reserve the back area where the pool tables are. I guess it really depends on how many people we expect to be there. From my recollection at the Tom Petty/PJ shows, there were about 100 or so people at bar across from the Xcel.

    RSVP updated. As far as the venue, I may be wrong and I can look into this, but most bar owners welcome a crowd of nice people spending money in their bar. There is usually not a fee attached to that. IT's whether or not they are willing to allow to invade some space to set up tables, use a PA system to make announcements (ie. raffle items, drawings. etc.). The one thing we may have going against us is this happens on a weekend, where it may be their busy time. If somebody would like to contact the Rock Bottom Brewery and talk to them about allowing us in. Or they can call me so I can explain what we will need, our intentions, and such. PM me for my phone number. We ertainly would add quite a bit of business for any establishment that will allow us in.

    I will call around to a few bars around the downtown area and see what we can come up with. I agree, a lot of the bars will be open to an organized group coming in and spending money on food/booze.

    I will see what our options are for that weekend and will update you all.

    There are a few sites where we can look at getting a private room or at least a separate section from the bar area that would be easier to keep things better organized. We have plenty of options in the Minneapolis downtown area, that is for sure.

    My name is Dan and i'm from the Twin Cities area.Bout 10 minutes from the orpheum,maybe 15 ;)
    Brewers are in town friday,saturday and sunday also.Maybe check a game out if you would like and are going to be around.Just an idea.Black Keys on sunday,but i believe that's sold out.
    I can help out with the party.I just have to see if i can skip a wedding i was going to attend for a friend here.
    It's in the afternoon,so it's right smack dab during the preparty.I'll skip it and will help run the preparty with you guys in any capacity you would like.I have alot of stuff i can donate to the party to,to try and make this thing as successful as we can make it for whoever the beneficiary will be.
    I'm taking my 85 year old mom to the show with my other ten club ticket ;)
    Told her if he ever came here,she was going to be my "Date"! She loves Mr.Ed ;)

    So excited! I am in to volunteer any way I can. I live in the area but more St. Paul than Minneapolis. I would be happy to assist with stuff that needs doing "on location" since our benevolent organizers are doing so from a remote location.

    Sad to say I don't bring any connections to the area as far as bars/restaurants, etc. but again, am willing to try anything once!
