New album info and possible PJ20 location leak by McCready*

The reason why this could be significant is because of what they were talking about just prior to the exchange: Stevie Ray Vaughan. Vaughan unfortunately died just after playing at Alpine Valley in a helicopter crash.

CALLER: There's lots of talk about the PJ20 festival...

TB: Speaking of Stevie Ray Vaughan…

MMc: Right. Same place…

Caller: Ooo! There you go!

TR: No helicopters!

TB: The Gorge…

MMc: Maybe Texas, maybe the Gorge… Ahhh yes. We are going to do something regarding our 20th year because we're stoked to be around for 20 years.

The main thing we're getting ready to do right now is do another record...

*hand claps*

MMc: …which is kind of, I think gonna be cool. We've got about 20 demos ready to go for that, so… Where the festival is I'm not sure. It should be towards the end of the year… It's gonna be cool. We're looking at all the specifics and the bands and stuff right now.

And nothing's for sure yet. It's gonna happen though, I think. How about that for being vague?

*laughter*

It's totally gonna happen! I think?

TB: We're doing alllll we can to make it happen.

MMc: I'm good at being vague though. I'll tell you that. And then I blow it.

TR: Anything else you can tell us about the new music you're working on?

MMc: It's… There's a lot of different stuff going on. We've been getting together on and off since our last record so… We tend to get together for three days here and there and just record a bunch of ideas and Brendan O'Brien is there again which I'm totally stoked about. Kind of whipping us into shape and editing this here and there.

I think we have a bunch of ideas that'll need to be… Hopefully Ed will be stoked about some of them. And he's got stuff coming in too so that's all happening very soon. So we'll get something new out.

Congrats on getting McCready to crack, Matt!

    It appears so, but what exactly that means is unknowable right now.

    Multiple bands one stage multiple days? Multiple stages multiple bands multiple days? There are so many different permutations this thing could manifest itself in that it's not really worth fretting about.

    Living in Europe I can't go to the PJ20 festival (you American's are lucky), but new news about a new album always stokes me!!! :shock:

    Great to get the info about the new album anyway + yeah it does sound like there is going to be a festival just gotta continue to wait for the when & what.

    2 things,

    1. That's not Mike going Oooooooooooooooooooooo!

    2. The context of the conversation leading up to that is Mike talking about seeing SRV at the Gorge, no reference to Alpine Valley or SRV death, except for Rob being all like ooooooooo, no helicopters and what not.

    So to me, he is referencing the Gorge and Rob is more referencing Alpine.
