I mean if the Stones and Petty have done it and Bruce decides to do it this year in Tampa how about Pearl Jam in Miami the following year?? And yes I am bias.....:)

It would make even me watch football, but the world doesn't deserve to see such a sight.
I'll end up alone like I began...

would be pretty funny if they allowed the 10 club members rush the stage too like they usually do during halftime shows...

I can see it now...people running all the way up, poster tubes in hand, people with signs saying "PLAY **** YOU PUSSIES!!!* people texting and relaying the setlists.....people taking their beer and piss breaks cause they're playing even flow.......and the people with seniority pissed off because younger/newer fan club members can run faster than them, so they can't be front row.

    haha

How would they pick the only couple of songs to play, there are so many good ones???

On a more serious note, I don't think Ed would ever play a halftime show. It doesn't seem his style. He wouldn't like the sponser/sensor aspect of it. IMO.

Not only do I not think Pearl Jam would do it, I don't think they'd be considered for it. At least not right now, maybe in 10-20 years.

Pearl Jam doesn't have a universally recognized song, like say Born to Run, Born in the USA, etc.... I know a lot of people who have no clue what Alive sounds like.

That list also includes Michael Jackson, Justin Timberlake, Janet Jackson and one of Janet Jackson's nipples that sent loony fucking puritan shitheads into a frenzy.
So, I'm going with NO!!! on this one. Mostly because playing the Super Bowl Halftime sort of equates to doing a Pepsi commercial.

I agree. I just can't see Pearl jam doing something like this. The candidates for the super bowl show are either bands that are hall of famers or a pop act get together montage of garbage like what they put together in 2004. That was sooo bad.

Aren't ALL Super Bowl Halftime show God awful?
Halftime Shows are for the women... and the men with too much estrogen in their system. Because most of the guys I know run to the kitchen and eat like pigs or go outside and shoot some hoops and give their bullshit commentary about the game and other stupid shit.
They need to go back to the basics... drag out the local college's Marching Band and have them play J.P. Souza music.

    So... 2 out of 42?

Wouldn't it be more fun to toss the football out back... or shoot some hoops... or hang out in the kitchen and eat spoonfuls of your friend's award winning chili right from the pot while you all argue who knows more about... everything... than any else?

Will never happen, this is a band that has tried in the past time to seperate themselves from corporate sponsorship, ticketmaster, mainstream media etc.. and the super bowl is the epitome of all of those things in one. Plus they wouldn't be asked. They have had good bands the last few years, but I would say theres about as much a chance of PJ doing the superbowl halftime show as their is Neil Young doing it (ie, none)

While it would be awesome (and everyone who says otherwise or says they would be through with PJ if they did it is full of shit or just plain fucking retarded), this truly would never happen.

They simply don't fit the profile and never will, even in ten years.

So they won't have the opportunity to say yes or no because they won't be considered.

    Ever.

It wouldn't bother me at all. Since the Janet Jackson wardrobe malfunction, they have had some really good musical artists at halftime. I think PJ would fit right in with the recent line ups.
