I bet Incubus could be another, they could play a few of the mellow songs, In Hiding maybe.

funny, I can't really think of any others beyond what's been mentioned, their contemporaries keep popping up in my head, Foo, REM, etc...

maybe harper, but I don't know about Cornell...it seems that the bands that perform at this thing are influenced by the band being honored

I'm not a big fan, but wasn't Maroon 5 pretty vocal early on about how much they loved Pearl Jam?

Probably a bunch of bands that haven't even formed yet. If it happens the same time in their career as The Who, it won't be for like another 20 years.

That's a bit conceited don't you think? I can only see someone like Kid Rock or Kanye West doing an honors show for himself/themselves. ;)

I remember seing an interview in miami bout 2 yrs ago and the girl asks the singer who his fav band was and who theyd love to open for and the guy was like dead set "Pearl Jam!..Grew up on them big fan and would love to tour with them sometime in the future."
Check out this vid and how bad ass would it be if they did open for Pearl jam one day and Mike joined them kinda like ed joins opening bands on this song:

but seether was new when that came out and I always thought it was more directed at the nickelbacks and Puddle of mudd, days of the new and I guess u can say staind.

My thing is tho Im not a staind fan at all..dontl like them but when he played black as a tribute to PJ I respected it at least that much..didnt think it was a great cover but I respect the fact he likes or liked the same band I love. I'll give them that much.

Like what if The Who hated on PJ for playing baba back then?

this may be a stupid question, but does the band that's being honored at all the VH1 Rock Honors shows ever have a say in who pays tribute to them? I sort of assume that they at least have to approve, yes?
i've been in my mind, it's such a fine line...
