I'll be 27 this year, and have had my first copy of Ten since it came out in '91. So..life long fan more or less I am!
    9/4/00, 7/1/03, 7/12/03, 5/30/06, 8/5/07, 10/28/09, 5/13/10, 10/21/13, 10/22/13, 10/27/13
  • I was 17...I was in a Record and Tape Traders in Baltimore and they were playing Ten in the store...it was right before Alive broke. I remember looking through different tapes and finally asking the guy working there what was playing. He showed me the case and said it was a great album and he had been playing it on a loop since they had gotten it in... I bought it on the spot and then a few days later I heard Alive on the radio...that was it...I was hooked...
  • 54 - born in 1957. Keep doing the math because it still doen't register but it's still 54.

1991 my older son was 6 months old and luckily grandma took him so my husband and I could drive down to key west for a few days. Heard Evenflow on the car radio and that was it - my journey began, continues, and I can't wait to see where it takes me next. That moment my life as I knew it was changed forever, and this connection has guided me through a roller coaster ride of life, sometimes very good and often times very challenging. I am very thankful to be part of this community.

  • OMG I'm so old . . . I turned 40, yes 40, the year Ten was released. I was in the midst of a divorce, hanging out with friends who turned me on to PJ. My ex and I had totally different tastes in music . . . he was a Beatles, Loggins & Messina, mellow-music dude, 4 years older than me. I'd always been into hard rock, and all my priors before him had been musicians . . . mainly electric guitar. (My ex played acoustic.) When alt rock (I won't say grunge) hit I was in heaven. Loved all that music and still do. I can't help my age, but I can listen to and still rock out to the music that melts the years away! My most recent PJ concerts were in 2009, but I WILL be at PJ20 this year! This year is another freakin' milestone b'day for me . . . one I dread except that it's likely the PJ20 festival will be the same weekend, so guess what my big b'day gift to myself is gonna be!

Please don't freak about my age when you see me at the festival. When PJ is playing I am ageless! :D

I first heard pearl jam during my conception, my parents got busy to black. My first pearl jam concert was in 1992, I was rocking out in the womb, wearing flannel and all.

I was 21, studying abroad in America for a year and my roommate was crazy about Ed and PJ. I heard them but didn't really 'listen'....yes, I'm an idiot! I was more into Pink Floyd, Neil Young, GD, Bob Marley, etc. than the "grunge' stuff. BUT..and I've mentioned this before so sorry to repeat myself....last summer I stumbled across a You Tube video of Black at Pinkpop '92 and have been crazily obsessed ever since. I turned 40 last Nov!!!! :o
So I am an oldie with a new passion!

    Pffffft.

44 when I heard "Hard Sun" and said to my nephew, "Hey this is pretty good." And he said "You should check out Pearl Jam."

    47 now. Fucking addicted.

Hope I give all of you hope that aging doesn't necessarily mean life is over.

  • I started listening to Pearl Jam when I was too young to even tie my own shoes. My mom played them all the time around me, especially Vs. Then in '98 when I was six I finally went to my first concert. I'm 19 now, turning 20 this year. And I feel extremely young, comparatively speaking.

I started listening to them when I was about 14-15 and I think I would have been about 15 or 16 when I saw them for the first time. I'm 28 now and still loving them, I love how their music has evolved as I has grown up, it's still the same PJ but they've just really grown as a band. Phenomenal group of artists.

I am 24 right now... I always "liked" them from a young age because I would hear them on the radio. The unhealthy obsession began in 2000/2001 when I got a hold of napster =). A little upset I missed out on them in the 90s.
  • I'm 33...my high school boyfriend played Ten every morning in his car as we drove to school. That was the spring of 1993 and I've been hooked ever since.

    27.

I always liked them growing up. The obsession began after my first concert in 2003. Started buying bootlegs and the rest is history...

I graduated college in 1991, fell in love with Ten at first listen, and have been hooked ever since.
  • I have always liked them but really started getting into them in 98. My friends used to rip me off about them so I used to hide the fact that I liked them, now you can't get me to shut up about them.

I have my cousing to thank for getting me into grunge, he was huge on it and showed me the way.

Sadly I am 27 this year and have only been to one PJ concert and 2 EV concerts. Hopefully next year I might get to see them again.

I too am upset that I missed out on seeing them in the early 90's.
