"I really don't listen to these guys anymore, and well, I think they suck so this collector's item should go to a happy home!"

That part kind of caught me off guard, actaully pretty funny.

Because he feeds you liberal godless bullshit that makes you feel guilt free.

With that, I still love Pearl Jam, but he does pander.

Sorry is the fool who trades his soul for a corvette
Thinks he'll get the girl, he'll only get the mechanic
    What's missing? He's living a day he'll soon forget

That's one more time around,... the sun is going down
The moon is out, but he's drunk and shouting,
Putting people down...he's pissing,.. he's living...
    A day he'll soon forget

    Counts his money every morning
The only thing that keeps him horny
Locked in a giant house, that's alarming
    The townsfolk,... they all laugh

Sorry is the fool who trades his love for high-rise rent
Seems the more you make, equals the loneliness you get
and it's fitting,... he's barely living,... a day he'll soon forget

That's one more time around,... there is not a sound
He's lying dead clutching Benjamins,... never put the money down
    He's stiffening,... we're all whistling...
    A man we'll soon forget

I was liberal and godless well before i heard of Eddie Vedder.

Ed's just speaking his mind and it just so happens i agree with him on some subjects. It's his stage. We all go there KNOWING what he's going to to talk about in between songs. I don't think he panders to anyone.

I think it has been proven, the impact that artists can have on politics, with John Lennon (almost got deported for speaking his mind)...And Dylan constantly being questioned if he is political in his songs (and hilarious that he regularly denies being "political").I believe that it is unfair to ask that Eddie does not speak of politics or other beliefs. We have all embraced this band for not only the music but also Eddie's words...which are many times very political in his songs....I love this about him. But, it makes me wonder...is it ok for Eddie to include these things in his songs..but, not without accompanying music?

If I knew where it was I would take you there. There's much more than this

Thats exactly how i feel, I know what to expect when I go to a show but Im going there for the music and the fans, nothing more. I am an educated adult who makes my own decisions without a "rock star's" influence. I would go to a VFC concert, enjoy the HELL out of it and then vote Republican the very next day, NO Big Whoop!

I have never cried on here about him giving his opinion. But Eddie does pander. I was just responding to the question of how he panders. OK with me. He is a musician. Of course, he is a lefty.

And no I don't need him to give me my Right wing Wacko fix. I have Sean Hannity for that.

    Aw, a torn PJ lover.
Here’s a question you might need to ask
What’s self destruction and how can we last?

"I cannot stop the thought of running in the dark.
Coming up a which way sign. All good truants must decide."

I fail to see how speaking one's mind = pandering. To pander would be for Eddie to only say things because it's what people want to hear. Neither of those things is true: he's shown that he is committed to what he says and isn't just saying it to gratify people, and, as is clear from these boards alone, a lot of people don't want to hear the things he has to say. His opinions may be more popular now, but he stuck to them even when they were unpopular (e.g., 2003 tour). You'd have a much stronger case for him pandering if he kept quiet just to please the public, or if he changed what he said based on the overriding sentiment at the time.
