Boots - Question About Downloads on Macs

edited July 2008 in The Porch
Has anyone downloaded any of the shows using a Mac (Safari or Firefox)? If so, any problems, tips, etc.? I've found it more challenging at times to download on a Mac than on a PC from some sites (though I had no problem with the 2006 boots). I'm still trying to decide whether to buy the downloads or the CD's.

Thanks in advance for all responses (or pointing me to another thread if this has already been discussed).

I have a MacBook and I've downloaded two shows thus far. I use Firefox. They downloaded just fine. The only thing I didn't like is I had to go through and change all the song titles in iTunes because it put a bunch of numbers in front of the actual title. No biggie. Not sure if that was a Mac thing or not.

    Downloaded fast though !!!

oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

DL'd Columbia on my MacBook with no issues (other than trying to free up space on my hard drive).

Looks like I'm the only one who's had trouble so far. When I tried to download the Camden I FLAC for the first time, it took 4 hours to complete 30%, and ended up being cancelled (not by me). Now I'm on my third try...I get to around 700 MB of 975, then it gets slower and slower (about 20KB/sec). When I went to bed it had two hours left to download, and when I woke up, still two hours. No idea what's going on.

Thanks everyone for your responses. I downloaded DC yesterday and it worked like a charm. Those numbers in front of each song are a bit annoying though, I agree.

It took me 6 hours to DL the SC show- I have no idea why. What programs did people use to change flacs to mp3s?

not sure why you would want to convert flac to mp3, kind of defeats the purpose of downloading flac

use MacFlac to convert to wav

or use Fluke to play the flacs right in iTunes
