Great reason for the concert to be at alpine if you have a problem with pj playing the big cities then move to one dont take it out on the ppl that live by them saying we should pay a shitload of money its not our problem that pj likes to play places they know will sellout in ten mins, and ppl dont have a problem spending the money they just dont want to travel that far for lawn seats!!!!!

I'm just happy as hell that it's going to be done, no matter where it is, and I really really hope I can be there (made a hotel reservation already just in case). But how bout my boyfriend told me that I will go there alone (which is/has been my plan) over his dead body.

I agree with this statement too. Capacity may be an issue. But in defense of your boyfriend, most PJ concerts are Sausagefests held on Pirate Ships, so I could understand his concern. While my wife is all supportive and shit now I know once she's out there in the field after like 20 minutes on day one, she'll start looking at her watch and shit too, so I'm trying to figure out how to handle that too!

    don't bring her

was in wisconsin a few years ago for an eagles/packers game. it was like going back in time. I don't think they have CDs out there yet.

Lambeau Field was great though. I know it would never happen, but how cool would a concert there be?

Thanks! Yeah, it can be true about the sausagefest thing (that was funny, btw  ), but we've only been going out about 2 years, and I was pretty much single for almost 10 years before that, so I'm used to going places alone---I liked it that way, but, hey, things change right. :D I'm just like "I'm going no matter what" and he's like "no the hell you're not; over my dead body"..and it goes back and forth. Considering the fact that I've loved them since the early 90s and he only knew 2 of their songs when we started dating, I figure I have grounds... But actually tonight he conceded to it if I share a room with someone (a female, of course). I guess (acc to him)I need someone to 'watch over me'--he's worried, ya know. But I can see his point, and yours. Totally with ya.

    wat is S.P.A.C.??????????
  • i agrre with the OP. alpine is a pretty awful venue. if you aren't in the pavillion it's almost not worth going. the only worse lawn is SPAC. I was hoping for a real festival with camping. I just don't see the point in calling it a festival if it's a place you can just play on a normal tour.

saratoga new york. similar type of venue but with an even worse lawn. i guess id rather alpine over it and i live 4 hours from spac. they should do PJ20 on the empire polo fields. id gladly fly out to Cali for that.

i see how it is. those are fighting words! i will admit 2009 sounded bad, but 2010 was the heat! although i was really referring to sighlines and the steepness of the hill. There are less wooks to fall on you at PJ, but there are def more drunk frat broes to tumble down the hill. It it rains that place is a shit show.

if it rains, go with it! i've had some amazing times at the alpine mudslide!!! either you love alpine or you hate it. my ONLY complaint (besides Phish plays there too often  ):sometimes it's impossible to get out of the lot after the show
  • yeah the lot can be a bitch. ive only been there a few times since im from boston, but i dont actually hate the place. people in the midwest just fluff the shit out of it. I think Deer Creek is a much nicer venue for that area. I will say that the view at Alpine is sick and it's awesome to be in the pav and to look back on the massive lawn. It just sucks being on that lawn.
