All the whining in the world won't make the band and/or management change their minds on that. They will have set criteria for where it needs to be, and that will be the deciding factor. Pure logic will tell you that.
Secondly, as far as I am aware, it's been a very very long time since PJ played in the midwest. So the people from there who are going off a little at the East coasters who get to see them a lot have a valid point.
It is also a valid point to say that it's not going to matter where it is, how hard it is to get there, how difficult accomodation is - if you want to go, you will either find a way to go, or suck it up and deal with the fact that you can't.
Thirdly, I would like to point out that not all PJ fans are American. Pearl Jam has a very very big fan base ALL OVER THE WORLD. All of you who are living in America should consider yourselves luckier than others in further away parts of the world, who are going to be looking at many many thousands of dollars just to get there. That doesn't include car hire, or taxi costs, or accomodation costs, or even the tickets. That's just the airfare to get into America.
And you aren't going to see as many people from other countries whining about that, as you already see Americans whining about the location, when it isn't even confirmed yet. We just accept that we need to fork out money we could all use on other things, to see the band, because we love them, we love the music, and it makes us happy.
It's just my opinion, but people should just be happy that the band are going to put on a great show to help us celebrate this anniversary. Yes, we ALL have issues, NO ONE is going to be 100% happy with the venue, the location, the dates etc etc. But it's Pearl Jam, and where there is a will, there's a way. Stop complaining so much, and just be happy for the times you have gotten to see them personally, and keep that in your mind.
Focus on the good, not the negative. Glass is half full people. Half full.
