Working for Pearl Jam?

I think most of PJ's crew have been with them a long time. There's probably not much turnover in those jobs.0

Agreed. I'm sure for most people listening to PJ's music and going to shows is what they do to get AWAY from the pressures of a job, taking a break from the work week. I figure no matter who you work for, there will be pressures and stress to some degree. It's probably best to keep it separated from things you do for fun.
Now having said that, on the other hand, you gotta work for somebody (most of us at least) so it might as well be a kick-ass rock band!Sam0 -
If you want work for them as a roadie, you better start learning the job right now. I'm actually a lighting tech and went on the road with professionnal artists, and what I can tell you, it is far to be what it looks like.. Stay home and enjoy the simplicity!

now THAT is a dream job!0

Hate to say it but even though it sounds awesome, eventually it would probably become "a job" and could ruin most of what you love about the band - human nature I think - one's problems are all relative...may see Ed in a different light after he hurled a wine bottle at your head0

Being a touring roadie is a lot like War. There are long passes of extreme boredom followed by short passes of extreme stress. When you are setting up the sound stage and there's a break in the signal flow, you better hope that it doesn't trace to you or else you can count on being reprimanded if you're on the bottom of the totem pole. You're pretty much on the clock all day long except for meal breaks.
Don't expect to see your family much until post tour.
But the pay is good (for mega touring bands) because it is constantly accumulating into your bank account while you have no time to spend the money, and most meals are paid for in the touring budget.0 -
If I worked for PJ/10C, I would make sure to ship the right shirts people payed for. Seems they have a problem doing that.0

from what I've heard, getting on PJs crew is the best situation possible for a roadie. They're treated incredibly well by the band. Why else would they have pretty much the same crew for nearly 20 years? Nobody's quitting once they get hired by Pearl JamHello, I love you. Won't you tell me your name?0
