And you know what else about the Government of Canada ?
    don't you mean "harper's government"? ;)

Ya, right ... it's now the Harper government. What a fuckin' tool this guy is. It all needs to crumble man. Destroy all belief systems and start the fuck over. Jesus Christ ... what a joke!

You know, I've dealt with WCB of Alberta (Workman's Compensation). There is no difference in the way WCB & the 'Harper' government run things. They are one entity. I'm not saying this out of spite. I'm saying this from experience. They are both run by oil. It's all run by oil. Makes me puke. And I'm suppose to bring children into this world ?

It's time for an election ... let's rock n' roll

Why would you want an election? They cost 300 million and you'll get the same results or a Harper majority. The only way things will change is if both the liberals and conservatives replace their leaders, and I doubt the conservatives will as long as Harper delivers at least a minority.

I also doubt we will see a majority parliament any time soon, we have 5 political parties that get at least 5 % of the vote.

No point in an election, results will probably be the same.

I highly doubt the average Canadian cares about all this political BS that been happening the last week about contempt of parliament and all the other bullshit going, you would think Layton and Iggy would figure that out, they throw this stuff out there at Harper and none of it sticks.

I'm sure most people are concerned about keeping their jobs, paying their bills, putting food on the table, etc..

I'm not a fan of Harper, but I'll take him over Iggy who lived in the States and the UK for much of his life.

I think the biggest problem is getting someone likeable to run against him, I'm not that big a fan of Ignatieff either. He has the fakest political smile i've ever seen.

    That DOES look painful!!
And it's so true, the problem of voting ABC (Anyone But Conservative!) is that the rest of the votes are split 3 ways. I know this bible-thumper who is so pro-conservative she's almost brought to tears if you say anything about her precious Harper. She actually changed her facebook relationship status to 'In a relationship with: house 'o commons' Anyways, when Harper won the last one, she was going on about how "Canada has spoken"... More like, 50% of Canada even VOTED, and like 50% of that voted conservative. So really only a quarter of Canada has spoken 8-)

I'm just taking an educated guess here, but I think the reason people have quit voting is they know they are just going to be lied to, so most people are at the point of why bother. All I have to look at is what been happening in Ontario since the late 80's, maybe longer just don't remember.

I don't ever seeing the day coming when 1 party gets over 50% of the votes because we have 5 parties now getting over 5% of the vote. The conservatives are benefitting from vote splitting much the same way the liberals benefitted in the 90's.

I almost think for things to change the three major federal parties need leadership change, the only party I see making a change is the liberals. I have read that Bob Rae has the inside track :lol:, which would probably lead to the same old.

I'm no Harper fan, even more disappointed that we sent 6 jets to libya. But our choices are not great.

True! I've always maintained that in elections we don't vote for who we think is best, we vote who we think is the least worst...

Why post Yahoo comments? It's a cesspool of bigots and ignorance. That being said, I'm always tempted and I read what's posted on the page under the article. On the rare occasion, I'm surprised with compassionate posts, example being after the tsunami/quake.

Very true... the current 3 federal leaders (that can be PM) are not very inspiring imo. I would like to see all 3 of those parties change leadership, but with fresh face's...not likely to happen though

Personally I think that Jack Layton is the most likeable of the 4 leaders, and would make a good PM. The problem is the NDP will never gain control of the government.

26% approval rating for Harper? Ouch. I have no problem with the criticism of Obama, and I will criticize him myself; however, what I cannot stand is the absolute idiotic level of discourse in this nation. People run their mouths as if they have any clue as to what is going on. It amazes me and saddens me at the same time. I wish I knew everything; I wish I was right all of the time.

If ignorance is bliss, then idiocy must be paradise. I am guessing that 80% of U.S. citizens live in a self-constructed, delusional paradise.

Turn off the boob tube and educate yourselves.

29% of Americans couldn't name the current Vice President when Newsweek administered the citizenship test to them. 6% didn't know when Independence Day was. 38% failed the test altogether (I think that means 2/5 of Americans aren't qualified to be American  ).

    And these people vote...
And I listen for the voice inside my head... nothing. I'll do this one myself.

I don't watch it... no room on my DVR, what with all of the episodes of the various Real Housewives I have saved on there.
