Wow, just wow. They set the room on fire. A great vibe. Lots of energy. Dug's vocals were amazing. And yes, Mikey was melting faces and having with the crowd. I feel so lucky to have seen them.0

Just got back from the show...and for anyone who is still undecided whether they should go...I say GO! You won't be disappointed.
For those of you going to the upcoming shows with Gull as the opener, I would suggest getting there early to check this dude out. He played for ~35 minutes and he played 3-4 songs...I can't be sure how many songs he played..well if you saw him play you would understand
He plays the guitar & drums at the same time...I can best describe what I witnessed with a Dazed and Confused (movie) quote : "You couldn't handle that shit on strong acid, man". It was really cool, but his mask may give me nightmares tonight.
On to Tres Mts...
I was very close to the stage (just one person back) in between Mikey & dUg and from beginning to end they rocked the place. They kicked it off with Holes in the Road and of course Mike got very into it right away. He was literally playing in the faces of the first couple rows for nearly every song. It was amazing. A few songs in they played Makes Me Feel which was one of my favorite songs from the album and still is one of my faves after hearing it live...just a great vibe on that song. Before starting "God Told Me", dUg reminded everyone that this is a sarcastic song...i love when sarcastic songs are the ones that have the "catchiest" hook. When they played Afrosheena, Mike encouraged everyone to sing the chorus..he really had a great time with the crowd..and we had a great time with him
Life was a great one live too...a lot of feeling in that song and I could tell dUg was really getting into it.
I've got to say one of the highlights for me was their cover of In Every Dream Home A Heartache...they all knocked this one out of the park. They wrapped up with La Grange/Fire and it was a great way to end the show. I was impressed with everyone in the band..Mike of course was on fire, dUg's vocals were awesome, Rick played the shit out of the drums and Jeff rocked out as usual. I loved that it was obvious that everyone was having a great time playing together..big smiles across the stage
I'm sure there are plenty of details I missed...but all you need to know is that Tres Mts. rocked!! Now go see them!!Show #13 was a lucky one for me....0 -
This show was spectacular. I think I was in front of afroannie, right between Mike and Dug. All I can say is that the Master, Mike McCready, melted my face playing his guitar just inches away from my face on several occasions.
As for the band, they looked like they were have a great time The set was just over an hour, but it rocked the entire time. Jeff was hopping around and really seemed to be enjoying himself. Dug was on and really seemed into it.
I also feel lucky to have seen this line-up. Go see them if you have the chance.0 -
Have to agree that Mike stole the show. He was absolutely amazing; I’ll probably never stand that close to him again. He was interacting with the crowd on just about every song and was jamming all over the stage. I’m so glad I ended up getting there on time—I was about 4 rows back on Mike’s side and...I CAUGHT ONE OF HIS GUITAR PICKS!! I can almost guarantee that will never happen again!
Don’t have much time this morning, but just wanted support the great reviews from other folks. Jeff looked like he was having a lot of fun, too, wish I could have gotten better pics of him. Pinnick’s vocals were surprisingly very strong…actually better than the album on certain songs. Speaking of the album, the live show rocks A LOT harder. I must admit I was really disappointed after listening the album for the first time and hearing how mellow it was (especially after getting addicted to My Baby). The live show is a different story, especially the guitar parts. Mike extends and rips through just about all of the solos with fury, and the riffs are a lot heavier. He was literally right in the fans faces last night shredding.
Again, if you have the opportunity to see these guys, take it, it’s a damn good time. Honestly Jeff and Mike looked to be having more fun than they do at PJ concerts; I think a large part of that is the small, intimate venue--they can really relax and interact with the crowd MUCH more so than they’re used. With their limited set of tour dates thus far, I feel really fortunate to have seen them. You won’t see Jeff and Mike in such small venues very often, so go see ‘em if you can!0 -
I won't reiterate too much of what was already said. I was lucky enough to briefly meet Jeff prior to the show at the merch table and get a quick picture with him. He was very cool to the group of fans that were trying to say hi prior to the show. I was actually surprised that more people didn't approach him.
Gull was scary/interesting/talented/fun. Definitely try to check him out.
The group as a whole seemed to have a lot of fun up there and Doug seemed genuinely impressed by the crowd reaction throughout the show. Mike seemed like he was just let loose and went to town on the guitar. I was on Mike's side and the man's skills are IMPRESSIVE. He is amazing with the crowd. High fives, playing in people's faces, he was a blast to watch. I go to touch his flippin' guitar as he played. Unreal! The set rocked, and closing with Fire was killer.
I saw travelar and afroannie but did not venture over to say hi. By the time I realized I spotted message board celebrities, Tres Mts were already in full swing.
Definitely check these guys out if you can or are on the fence about going. I got to say hi and shake hands with most of the band and the music was fun. Thanks Doug, Mikey, Mike, and Jeff! You guys ROCK!

That's cool you got to meet Jeff! Too bad you didn't get a chance to hi...I always look around at pearl jam shows wondering who the fellow crazies...I mean board members are
It's always nice to meet fellow fans that "get it". I'm always dragging one of my friends along, and while they like music, it's just not quite the same. My friend last night kept asking me about the herd of guys huddling up on Mike's sideI think she understood a little better after she saw Mike in all his glory.
It was definitely a unique experience to have Mike literally playing in your face! Even if you got front row seats at a pj show, there's usually a barrier between the stage and seats, so you would still never be that close.

So excited for tomorrow night!!!
I admit, the sarcasm of God Told Me went right over my head the first couple times I listened to it.Whew... I was a little worried there.

It was a great show, lots of energy. Mike was going crazy like usual. band looked to be having a lot of fun and really into it. I think the songs come across great live.
And of course, any time someone covers ZZ Top, its awesome....got a mind full of questions and a teacher in my soul...0 -

Speaking of beards, my friends and I were commenting on how many beards there were all over the place last night. I was right behind those three guys that Afroannie was talking about on Mike's side. One of them was asked to leave for a while for sneaking a cigarette. I was wearing a yellow t-shirt, brown glasses, no beard.
Afroannie - I too like to meet fellow nutjobson this board if I can. I was part of a somewhat awkward meeting at the last dc area show at jiffy lube live. next time there's a show in the area we'll definitely chat it up.

Can some one confirm, is Mike's side on Mike's regular PJ spot and Jeff's side is Stone's regular PJ spot?"McCready played on, lending credence to the theory that he was actually built in Stone’s basement from spare truck parts and vinyl records." - Glide Mag. review of MSG 7/8/030 -
