Any of you familiar with them?
I bought their latest CD last night and have listened through twice. It's pretty different.....great drummer and bass player.....average on the guitar at best. The vocals are very different - to me any way - kind of like scream/whine/moan thing going on.
I really like the first track - She gonna have my baby - it's pretty catchy...and 7+ minutes long.
They would really fit in at Bonaroo.
I think almost everybody here is familiar with them and like them.
i saw them at Werchter and Ed went on stage with them for one song.

Kings Of Leon opening again?! If so, you are in for a treat!
Didn't know them 'till I heard "On Call" and I was sold!
Gonna see them for the first time on this years Roskilde Festival and I can't wait.
The sun in my eyes, a cold beer in my hand and Kings Of Leon playing "McFearless" on the orange stage. It's gonna be sweet!!:D:D:D

you sound like they are a small band? This is their 3rd album and the first 2 are better in my opinion... I don't think it's that different but I have been a fan for a about 5 years now. Seen them about 4 times and they are a great live band.

I think I am almost as excited to see KOL as I am to see PJ! There is a few live songs on Itunes that you should check out. It has a lot of my favorites on it. They will grow on you...keep listening! :)

Same here... I'm not very familiar with Ted Leo. KoL rocks! I saw them at the Tabernacle in Atlanta and I can't wait to check them out next time they are in town. Awesome energy, great music... Pearl Jam with Kings of Leon sounds like a dream show... I can't believe I'm going to DC and not Tampa or WPB... *bangs head against the wall*

Big Ed - do me a favor. Listen to nothing but KoL and live PJ shows until June 16. KoL is gonna grow on you brother. That is all I've been listening to lately. They kick f'n ass. their music is different - takes adapting to - but then you start to tune in to their sense of humor and overall approach to their art.

    then you are hooked.

Because Of The Times is one of the only albums that I loved the very first time I listened to it.

Gotta love the Southern Garage KOL, too.

That was my third chance to see them live. I'm looking forward to a fourth in Va Beach with PJ.
Nathan (drummer) is a show in himself!
  • they are the only "other" band i'd que to see,

Seriously get all 3 albums, amazingly simple yet so powerful ! Some of the strongest drumming and bass i've seen.

    He is quite the multi-tasker.

Smoking, wiping his face, tipping back a beer, chatting with his tech, I think I even saw him take a picture...all without missing a drumstroke.

    That one's got talent.
