I know there has probably been a thread before, but i just watched the performance of jeremy again,and man is it awesome. Ed shaking from the nerves, stone hoping around in a circle, jeff running back and forth, dave a going ape-shit behind the kit

    i've heard that pj wanted to play sonic reducer at that time but mtv didn't allow & told them to play jeremy instead.

    I always like seeing what "related" videos are listed.

    There's a video of an interview they did after the VMAs with Kurt Loder.
    I miss the old days of MTV when they had some influence over pop culture and music.

    This year when I watched the VMAs it was like watching the generation gap grow before me.

    I remember this was the first pj live stuff i´ve ever heard or see, i was 14 and i went like "what the fuck is this??"...i couldnt think in another thing in some weeks until i could get my first bootleg....some miami 92 show i guess

    That shit is intense. So intense. Eddie was so engaged in what he was saying back then...it comes across so sincerely intense. Love that performance too.

    "I don't need no...I don't need no Mom and Dad." - I just don't feel the same about this statement as I did back in the day when I was a young angst ridden teen. Does Ed feel that way at that time or is it just relevant to the content of Jeremy? I'm pretty sure he always understood the importance of Mom and Dad and I guess was pretty angry about his own situation but as a father of two now I doubt he feels the same as he did then. Was he saying it out of spite for his own circumstances or as if he was Jeremy? ...And yes I know its from Sonic Reducer.

    He was probably saying it because he was angry at MTV. That's the song they wanted to play, not Jeremy.
    Can't escape from the common rule...
