The monstrous double team of the masterpieces known as Ten and Vs. >>> any other two PJ albums.

When PJ made Yield on the back of Vitalogy and No Code they were in danger of being sucked downwards in song writing style in to somewhere even darker and risking further alienation of the more fickle fans. I've heard them being accused of selling out over Yield and I'd have loved to have heard another experimental record as Vitalogy and No Code are my favourites but they probably had to make Yield. I don't think it is an absolute PJ classic or a bad album, in fact I love it, but the results of the album and tour resulted in a band invigourated with the music, enjoying themselves and gaining a more compromising sound far from the first 4 albums. Yield is a sprawling soundscape filled with sounds of open roads, oceans, anger, love and hurt and it should be cherished because if they had continued as they were they could possibly have long since failed and given up. This album cemented the next 10 years so in a way it's the best ever cos we still got our PJ and they're in no hurry to quit. Vitalogy and No Code rule!! Ramble over

Yields not even the best album by Pearl Jam, never mind best album ever.
I think
Sgt Pepper
Exile on Main St
Led Zeppelin II
Dark Side of the Moon
Who's Next
London Calling
might have something to say about that.
Not to mention that every album before Yield by Pearl Jam is superior and that I love the 4 after it. Yield is probably my "low point" (Let the flaming commence!)32 shows and counting...0 -

Yield craps better than Backspacer.0 -

I would take The End, Got Some and Force of Nature over anything that's on Yield.
I also never said Backspacer was superior Yield, just that I like it a lot more. It's personal preference and Yield is definitely my least favorite album, and I could never argue it being any where remotely close to the top of greatest albums of all time.32 shows and counting...0 -
sorry, but yes. yield is still my fav.
