they have always done side projects. You are making a big deal out of nothing.0

and if you think about it, all of the recent side projects albums were not recorded recently - Brad and Tres Mts were recorded many years agotheboxerorthebag wrote:they have always done side projects. You are making a big deal out of nothing.www.RLMcDaniel.com

I agree with theboxerorthebag.
After the release of No Code, they all went off to do solo stuff. Jeff was with Three Fish and Stone was working with Brad. This really isn't anything new at all. These guys are very productive workaholics. If Pearl Jam is taking a break from touring, they are working with other musicians.0 -

Well, you do kind of say "I think the end is slowly coming".
When actually "outside projects" are the sign of a healthy band.
Freedom to not grow stagnant, freedom of other pursuits of self-expression,
all while exhibiting the security, maturity, & comfort needed in knowing that this is (& should be) acceptable to "Pearl Jam" & Pearl Jam will be there for them.
Its refreshing for them to have outside pursuits,
and I'm sure its most felt when they return to Pearl Jam all fresh & stuff.
The musicians are people. I'm sure everyone can agree that we wouldn't want any of the band memebers to become resentful or feel smothered by being in a band that somehow looked down on outside pursuits. That seems immature. And Pearl Jam is not immature. They know full well what they're doing, and they're not giving Pearl Jam up. They respect that too much. C'mon now!
hey they gave us 20 years and they can choose whatever future path they want...i never said don't do your own thing ..aka side projects...
all i'm saying is i see more side stuff and less pj ....which kinda scares me
they haven't really toured since 06... yes they have played ....but a full blown tour hasn't happened in 4 years and with everyone having kids...probably wont ever happen again

Don't forget '95 after Vitalogy. Ed with Dave Grohl & Mike Watt Tour; the band with Neil Young on Mirror Ball + tour; Mike with Mad Season + tour. With all those side projects they were able to do 43 Pearl Jam show's http://www.pearljam.com/tour/shows/1995.0 -

Do you NOT want this festival, a tour, a new album, etc? Personally, all this negativity only makes me stronger...neilybabes86 wrote:demetrios wrote:bluesuedeitzrad wrote:I agree with theboxerorthebag.
