I was surprised to see that Eddie Vedder's picture is one of 25 that make up the collage at the top of the Wikipedia page for "White American" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_American

It's interesting, and also a funny coincidence considering the subject matter (and title) of the song WMA

I was just reading up on the Jim Crow laws, friend. Understandably, there's a link to "White Americans" from that page.

Maybe it's one of those sudoku things or the 7 steps of Kevin Beacon where you have to figure out what all those people have in common other than skin color.

    interesting. And
Can i be proud of that without being racist? so hard to tell these days.

BinauralJam - you provoke an interesting thought. I am white. I am proud of my heritage. Obviously there are spots on the white mans record throughout history. But I would hope every single person in the world took some pride in their heritage and culture.

So I guess if you're asking if it's racist to be a proud white man, the answer is no, but many would have us believe otherwise.

If you're asking if it's racist to be proud that Eddie Vedder is white and have that characteristic in common, that's a bit trickier.
