Pearl Jam should increase or decrease the ticket price based upon where u r siting. I am sick of paying 100 bucks to ticketmaster for an upper level seat when I get shut out of fan club tickets. Tickets for upper level should be like 30 to 50 bucks, not a 100 bucks. Other band charge less for the upper level seats and increase the price for floor or lower levels. It is time for pearl jam to start doing thats. I should not be paying a 100 bucks for an upper level seat when someone who paid the same amount of money as me is on the floor or in a lower level seat. That is ludacris and it shows how flawed the Pearl Jam system is when you do not get fan club seats. Therefore, Pearl Jam needs to increase the fan clubs tickets for the floor and lower level seats.

Then the first 15 rows would cost $300 per ticket, and the first 7 rows would be like $1000 a ticket.
ADD 5,200 to the post count you see, thank you. :)

Thats a fair price and should be implemented. No reason to pay the same amount of money for an upper level seat and a floor seats. That is absurd and makes no sense

  • that's a terrible idea. If I'm lucky enough to get through on a ticket sale and there are good seats available that would be the same as volunteering to pay more. If they made that change the it would only jack up the prices for the seats closer to the stage not make farther back seats cheaper. Shows cost enough as it is. You essentially just proposed that they raise their ticket prices.

Pearl Jam should charge less for every ticket in the house. Their prices are absurd.

true, and if someone would feel better paying this much for those tickets, there are a lot of places online to accommodate.

    sounds great
  • If you really think that's a good idea then just don't bother when they go on sale. Just go to stubhub and pay out the ass for a good seat if you think that's fair.

So... PJ is going to be singing about "angst" and "greed", while staring in the eyes of people paying hundreds-to-thousands for their tickets? I don't see them doing it.

Having a separate price for lawn? Sure... no seat, no roof, getting wet if it rains, sometimes sitting in mud... makes sense as the accommodations are significantly less.

But to get to the guarantee (payment) that the band wants to get per show, to have tiered pricing would mean that everyone that they can see the eyeballs of are only the rich (or have a gigantic budget to see shows). Plus it poses other questions... does "floor" get charged more than 100's section? Many 100's section seats are better than floor. Even parts of the 200's are better than parts of the floor. Is it based on distance? Sightlines? Angle? ...and each venue has different structures. MSG is different than Hartford, etc. It's a lot of manpower/hours/thought for coming up with a strategy that yields the band nothing more, and is probably not a widespread supported strategy in the fan base (in my opinion).

Of course the band could decide to ask for less to play, and then charge less for tickets to make your personal benchmark for what you deem a fair price... but with illegal downloading affecting sales, I don't see them wanting to lower their guarantee.

    My two copper pennies.

  • If you go see a band and the higher seats are cheaper than the floor, it doesn't mean they discounted those seats it just means they raised the price for the closer seats. Lawn seats are different because the lawn really sucks.
