hmmm, hadn't thought about that possibility. All he said was Luke. I got the sense he was a close friend of Ed's, but I could be mistaken.

When I heard that he'd dedicated Release to a close friend whose father passed away the previous day, I assumed it was Luke Russert. But I have no idea if they're friends or if that was what went down. Not sure he mentioned the name Luke at all.

He specifically dedicated the song to Luke, no last name. Makes sense that it would be Luke Russert.

Dude, I was at Bonnaroo and only JUST NOW, while listening to the boot, figured out it was Luke Russert that Ed dedicated Release to!

Yeah, it makes sense. It was one of the best releases they've ever done imo. Everything about it was awesome. The emotion, the tightness of the band, Ed's voice. Ed even cried during the song. WOW.
What the fuck is this world?
