Well...going back and looking at my music collection before PJ, my favorites were Zeppelin, The Beatles, The Who, U2, Jane's Addiction, Primus, Hendrix, Fleewtwood Mac, and a lot of old school punk and hardcore...even some old school rap!

But as far as best "bands"...I don't think there's many bands after the classic rock era of the 60's and 70's who are still relevant in terms of songwriting and talent, or can at least say they're going strong after 20 years. The 80's glam rock and heavy metal scenes fizzled out pretty quick, once they became caricatures of themselves..it's almost painful to watch people like Dave Navarro and Slash when they make appearances on TV or get involved with other projects. They're more "brands" now then they are musicians.

  • Introduced to the Stones when I was 11 and PJ at 13 so they are both my fav.

    Don't forget Uncle Neil

Tom Petty- has written some great music, besides the hits.
I got some if you need it.
