I think the reason why its so awesome is because its in the middle of effin nowhere but still in the thick of things ( an hour from CHI, Madison and Milwakee). Its 40,000 people and 50,000 in the parking lot before the show. The people in the Midwest are chill and the sound in the venue is spectacular.

The qustion, whats so great about AlPine VaLLY? is really tough to answer. Its kind of like asking someone why they like to look at the stars.

Alpine is not quite the middle of nowhere 45 minutes from several mid- large towns is borderline suburban in the Midwest urban sprawl

the Gorge, now that is the middle of nowhere.........

to each there own. If you think you were informing me of something, think again. And it is the middle of nowhere. The closest town is only 3000 people.

I camped at Bonnaroo for 4 days and I didnt meet a single person who had anything stolen. But Im still with you, camping isnt really my thing. I like to stay clean. Showers are a plus. And it gets fucking HOT in a tent. The Sun wakes you up when you just fell asleep an hour prior.... Sucks. 2 adjoining rooms for me at Alpine Valley Resort is fine with me. Taking a motorhome up there with 12 people. Hopefully its in Alpine cause Ive got 2 months of weekends already booked...

What's to get stolen? If it is at Alpine Valley, my dad and I are going to make this our annual bike trip and ride our Harleys the 750 miles from South Dakota. We road to Denver for the Tom Petty/PJ shows a few years back and had a blast. We stayed in a hotel then and i did enjoy the air conditioning, but we usually camp on these trips. Its going to be in September so it might not be that hot and there is a really nice campground in Mukwanago, just 11 miles from AV that we've stayed at for other shows and they're friendly to bikers and concertgoers.

Good luck to everybody looking for a place to crash.

I thought again.... and oh wait I wasn't trying to inform anyone of anything... no need to be defensive over your knowledge

merely pointing out that we have different ideas of what the middle of nowhere is.... something you should understand if you are from South Dakota ;)

Hey now, leave SoDak out of it. ;) I live in a city of 150,000 people and its the biggest city in the state.,,, so yeah, youre right, i should know about the middle of nowhere. The closest Dave and Busters is like 4 hours away and ive never had to drive less than 4 hours to see a PJ show. It really makes you appreciate stuff. Thats my tangent for the day.

I reserved my 2 rooms at Alpine Valley Resort and they don't know anything about the concert. I didn't want to take any chances though. Just to let everyone know, all of the concert suites(2BR, 2 Bath) are all booked for Labor Day weekend. I just reserved 2 adjoining rooms.

I hope its on Labor Day weekend because of the long weekend.
