Did we ever find out if there is any kind of wilderness nearby, or is the camping area in the middle of farm country? I was serious about my secret forest camp, if such a possibility exists. Of course, we're not talking about central Idaho or anything, which is obviously where it should be held.
I was serious too!!!

The stupid Cubs are at home this weekend. So this is just another possibility for Alpine. Ed seems only to schedule shows around Cubs games when they come this way.
Hopefully there will be some tour dates right before or after the Alpine dates.

I didn't see anyone mention the Amtrack from Chicago to Milwaukee and vice versa. Not sure if it would benefit those from out of town to try and take the Amtrack from O'hare to Milwaukee for like $40 and then catch a rental from Milwaukee to Alpne. Not sure about timing as an issue but it would probably be a lot cheaper then a connecting flight.

You would have to catch the Amtrak from downtown Chicago. O'Hare is about 15-20 miles from downtown...
When you say the closest to the venue how close would that mean ..
Within 10 mins.
are the hotels that are super close within 10 mins to alpine valley, all like 200 or 300 a night though cause its a golf resort area?
i remember the last show in the summer i went there, the night before it was a pj day off, so i stayed at some place like 30 miles north of alpine, then when i left after the show we went to illinois and found cheap rooms a few horus away, pj was playing ohio next, so it was road tripping to ohio. but alpine valley is a huge pain in the ass for hotels
if pj is going to do a festival there, first off it only holds 40,000 thats not a lot if they wanted more people, and does that venue allow camping in the parking lot? i dont think so right?
nobody wants to drive to chicago especially labor day weekend to sleep in hotels that would be a nightmare commute each day. and milwaukee is a weird ass city imo? but i only been th ere 1 time in daytime, i think i drove into the ghetto? and then got to downtown, ate and left, i remember it was august and COLD

what wwith people that dont have cars too this time? there is no other way into alpine right?
if pj is serious they want to play alpine for 3 or 4 days i think its a bad idea, cause of the logistics especially long weekend, it seems like it a v enue for a 1 day show on a weekend.
i think the biggest problem is the people it holds only 40k, if they want to do a festival, would they not want to sell more tickets than taht over 3 or 4 days?
wrigley field holds about 40k, why not just play there in chicago? eddie would get a hard on from it, and love it, and it be easier to find hotel rooms, probably no cheaper than alpine, but atleast chicago wont run out of rooms, like the alpine area WILL. and chicago has public transportation too which is always good.
montreal has a few places that hold 50,000k of people outside that they could play a festival in the middle of a big city

Sorry dude- this isn't a bitch thread.... Take your opinions elsewhere.
I really don't think your opinions, fuck-ups due to your travel experience, or thoughts of AV matter all that much to the band.... Pretty sure.
Also, for all you AV haters..... saw a Phish dvd at Best Buy this weekend. A full 2-day fest, hosted at AV.
Who's to say that this wouldn't happen for us as well?
wasn't a festival, just 2 concerts back to back which is much different than a festival.
the IT and clifford ball were dvd's of festivals
Didn't call it a 'festival'.... Never have, nor did the band. They never referrenced it as a 'festival' either (even though everyone is making it out to be a multi-headlining, multi-day weekend)...... I just call it pj20 fest.
