Me and my friend were able to get two tickets to the Boston Solo show. Any advice on fairly inexpensive and close to the venue hotels? your help will be appreciated.

Anything in the city will be expensive. I'd book a motel/Super 8 in the burbs like Randolph and drive in (are you renting a car?).

I'm also looking for some help. I'd be up for splitting a room with another couple if there's any interest. I think Copley Square is the closest to the Opera House. Be prepared to pay a lot though. I got the Westin on the Waterfront last year for less than $100/night using priceline. If anyone has the hookup on a pair of Red Sox tickets I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

That's a good point on the Red Sox for out-of-towners as they play Oakland all weekend. Sunday is a 1:30 game.

Yeah. I am willing to miss either Friday or Saturday's show if anyone has some CHOICE Red Sox tickets. Monster seats would be nice. :D

Stay in the 'burbs, take a taxi to the subway/commuter rail and train it in. Don't have to worry about A) getting lost B) parking C) in-city hotel prices.

Are you going to both EV shows? I'll bet someone will trade you primo seats at the Sox for your EV seats (I wish I had them).

I'll go to both shows if I can't find tickets to the game. I think I better start my own thread. :D

The closest hotel is the Hyatt downtown, it is two doors down from the Opera House. The Ritz is 4 doors down, but obviously these are both expensive hotels. but if you are looking for convenience, there you go. Dont stay in Randolph, that is over 20 miles outside the city. Copley Square is close but the hotels are still going to be expensive. The opera house is near the red line and green line if you are going to use Public Transporation from a hotel somewhere in the city. The opera house is in between the Downtown Crossing and Park Street stops on the red line and Park Street station is also a stop on the Green line. if you were staying somewhere near an Orange Line stop it is also within walking distance of the Chinatown stop on the Orange line. hope that helps, and stay in the city dont go to the suburbs and drive, you will still have to pay close to 30 dollars to park anyways on top of renting a car. Good Luck, maybe i will see you at the shows

No way! Boston suburbs SUCK if you're from out of town (see: Mansfield).
The Seaport sometimes has really cheap rates, but you have to call them directly and ask for specials. I've gotten in there for $99 a nite.

There's also a few hotels in Cambridge near MIT that are cheap, decent & basically walking distance, or a short cab ride.

There is a Marriott in Quincy. It's right up the street from Quincy Adams station on the red line, which will take you right into Downtown Boston near the Opera House. I checked rates for that weekend and they start at $109.

i know a lot of ppl stayed at the Shawmutt Inn for the shows at the Garden...thats only a 10 minute walk or so to the Opera House...

The Marriot in Boston is literally across the street from the Opera House on Laveyette Ave but im assuming it might be pricey.

Do you mean the Hyatt? I know that's right across the street. We got $171 there for Friday night through AAA. It's still pricey in my eyes but compared to other hotels in the same area or even booking directly through the Hyatt site it's not too bad.

If you want to stay like 30 mins out of the city..or even like 20ish minutes. Marlboro Mass has great hotels.. and is on all major highways.
