Is this song awesome or what? Amazing sound... too bad they have not played it since Honolulu 2006.

    This is my favorite song off Riot Act and think it sounds amazing live. Its hilarious I see this right after my last post.

    I wish they'd play this (a lot) more.

    So glad I got to see this in Paris 2006, I knew they were gonna play it aswell coz the sound guys were messing around with that delay sound before showtime.

    Does any guitarists know how to play it. One of the few Pearl Jam songs I dont know how to play and its funny, a drummer wrote the song. Would love to see Matt switch places with Mike or Stone for a song or two. That would be killer

    great, great song. when riot act came out, i instantly fell in love with that guitar. cool that matt did it too. it is one of, if not my gf's favourite song and she has been to 13 shows waiting for it. never got it yet. in camden II in 06 she was sick and had to stay at the hotel and they played it. hahha, also in portland 06 we heard the roadies testing the sound, so we thought we would get it, but it never came......

    Funny. PJ is my hands down favorite band ever. Drive my wife crazy bc I listen to them all the time. I am all for PJ going experimental, but think You Are is prob their worst tune--along with Evacuation. I'd say 90% of PJ songs I think are A's and B's but that is one of their only F's. Complete cheddar cheese. "Love is a Tower??" C'mon. Surprised we didn't get "Love is a Unicorn" as well.

    Def not trying to stir shit up at all, but def think this of that song. One of two or three that I genuinely dislike. There have been multiple previous posts on this song (and of other songs written by Matt Cameron for that matter) and I'd say there is clear divide between those that love it and those that hate it. This post is clearly favorable, but you could search old posts and see what I am talking about. Whatever. So be it.

    It helps having the proper gear though and knowing how to program the rhthym machine too haha

    I play the part live as well, with zero pre-recorded stuff...

    However Matt does use pre-recorded hi-hats to serve as a metronome between parts of the song.

    Not too many effects going on in the song other than a stompbox and the ryhthm machine
