this fight will never end

do you hear me?
listen closely
…don't lose me
drugs work
this fight will never get easy
… who are you fighting?
me?

don’t.

you’ll hit the ground hard
and you will hurt
the drugs will not work
you will remember happiness
that will not return
you will hurt in love

this is a fight
and it will never end

do you hear me!

can you see
the enemy?

your mouth’s getting dry
soon…
it’ll be time to get high
and you’ll be looking for me
you will not be looking to fight
there will be a moment of happiness
the moment will then die
you will remember
a feather
you will smile

…and you will cry

you will know love
And you will know that it’s a fight
