Looking at the Binaural tour of 2000, we wanted to do something in honour of the victims and survivors of the Roskilde tragedy. It was a difficult project to work on, not always easy listening or easy decisions to take, but working on this compilation was probably the most fulfilling project to date. We had excellent input, choices and contributions from a wide range of board members, and a constructive and supportive atmosphere to work in.

We had chosen to draw as much as possible from the European shows in 2000 and the official Euro bootlegs, and for the most part we used a different show for each song. We rounded off the collection following the format which has worked for other projects, taking some of the memorable covers and improvs from that part of the tour. The only exception was Parting Ways, which was not played in Europe, which we took from the last show of the 2000 tour in Seattle.

We hope you enjoy this collection. It can be quite demanding to listen to in places, but we are pleased with the job we have done, and the way forum members contributed so much, and I think we all agree that whilst there were many other song selections which could have been made from this part of the tour, the collection we have ended up with contains some truly outstanding music, and a lot of emotion. With love and peace to Pearl Jam fans everywhere.

I have to hand it to yall, my mind is blown! I thought the live version of Binaural couldn't get any better, and then you fucking hit me with
    Improv. - Nurnburg, Germany (June 11, 2000)
    I Got You - Verona, Italy (June 20, 2000)
Timeless Melody - Oslo, Norway (June 29, 2000)

That improv not only sounded cool, but it was a great way to bridge the actual album with the bonus material. It turned out really good and I am glad that you are enjoying it. Thank you so much for the kind words. :D

I used the above link to download the file on my mac but I am unable to extract the files. I use unrarx and got this error:

/Users/XXXXX/Downloads/Pearl Jam 2000 Tour Compilation + Artwork.rar is not RAR archive
    No files to extract

    Any thoughts?

I seem to remember someone else using a mac had the same trouble with some of our rar files, and I believe they got it sorted. The discussion is within the 'Anniversary Downloads' thread which should be on one of the first few pages of the Forum currently. I don't remember how they sorted it, maybe by using a different extractor, if I find time I will try and find the answer for you.

EDIT: I've looked into the previous discussion where people were having problems with a completely different rar file on their macs, and I think we resolved it by re-uploading the file. I doubt this will be possible though with the Man of the Hour compilation, since that is somebody else's. Cameron4President may be able to help you if he comes by, he knows about these things....

Funny, I use a mac and had no problem downloading it (obviously).

    Let me check.

Edit : I use the Unarchiver. It's a freeware. Might be worthy to download and give it a try. Never experienced any problem extracting with it. Hope that helps.

I've used plenty of Macs, there's even one in my spare room. They are designed for children by megalomaniacs

EDIT - actually they are pretty cool in a lot of ways. Don't want to start a bitter war here!

    Hey PushinPaint,

How did that workout for you? I will be more than happy to re-upload that and give it some new links if you can't get it to work. Let me know and I can do it late this evening (east coast USA time).

Thanks for the reply. I downloaded that other program, but it still said the files could not be extracted. It is possible I am doing something incorrectly as I'm still pretty new using a MAC. I'll continue to tinker with it a bit
