Have they, by any chance, made a suggestion about which Rival to use ?
No, that's what I was checking
Huhuh. And have you, by any chance, listened to any of those rivals to, like, decide which one we should put in the mix and if we need to change the one we've got ?
That's interesting comment on Thin Air though. I thought we were pretty much settled on the one we've got, but should we check it again ?0 -

Yet again, the Katowice 1 version we have now, although totally and clearly messed up, is twisted. I sort of like that. :?
Yeah, both Stockholm and Milan are great, but I like Stockholm a little better.
Katowice 1 is cool as well. Maybe this version can stay? Are the lyrics that important?Darkness comes in waves,... tell me, why invite it to stay?0 -

I think we've got a great Thin Air from a great show (Milan) - so I personally wouldn't want to change that one.
My brain is becoming fried again - it's taken me this long to realise that you guys have *stuck* with Salzburg for God's DiceI have just gone and downloaded it again!!
RIght, coffee and cigarettes and then I will do my Rival homework, promise. I keep getting distracted!! Sorry :oops:Cancel my subscription to the Ressurection

Well, the thing with the messed-up lyrics is that once you've noticed that they're not right, you can't help but hearing it. And that could be annoying. On the other hand, this version is ... special. So I don't know. I'd say it's a tie between orthodox rival from Stockholm, and twisted rival from Katowice 1.0 -

I enjoyed that Rival the most I have ever enjoyed the song - and that's probably because I think it has the worst lyrics of any Pearl Jam song! eekCancel my subscription to the Ressurection

I've tried to be subtle or even, hum, subliminal there .... :? Geez, this makes me feel like I'm being bossy ... Or am I ?
Ok then, twisted messed up rival gets to stay I guess. It's the funniest it could possibly get anyway.0 -

It's a great version!
Overall the problem I am having is that I think this is by *far* the best rough draft we have had at this stage, and personally I am not sure if we need to change any of it.Cancel my subscription to the Ressurection

good stuff.
i listened to God's Dice about 20 times in a row, no kidding. Got carried away and started listening to other versions from the american 2000 tour. Love the song.
I didn't realise how much Eddie effs up the lyrics for it thoughlove it still , but he seems to get the second and third verses always mixed up
Are we going to review Timeless Melody? I was listening to it today, wasn't familiar with it before to be honest. Really like it but I read somewhere (maybe tremors put it) that they've done it differently? I might have a listen, because there was something about it that just didn't scream last song to me. But I'll listen to it again
Rival - So it's out of Stockholm, Katowice and Milan? I'll have a listen to those now
Thin Air is perfect IMO, really really like it as it is.
Gosh, I actually love doing thisGetting to listen to all these songs, love love love it
Thanks again guys0 -

The Timeless Melody is one of the most 'sad' or disturbed I have heard it. Other versions are more uplifting I findCancel my subscription to the Ressurection

I hear you. And this is *very* frustrating. Can I mess up the track order, pleeeeaaaase ? I promise I put it all back in order once I'm done ! :angel:0 -
Electicxlovex - Have a listen to the London version of Timeless Melody and see what you think of it - as a reference point. That is the version I know best.Cancel my subscription to the Ressurection

I was curious as to what it would sound like if we changed the track order and not follow that of the album. I believe the mood would be different. But we don't want to do that, right ?0 -

Sure. You're busy trying to organize some gathering in the middle of the US next summer. Oh, and if you could get PJ to play too, that'd be awesome !0 -

I'm with Cameron4President on this one. We don't want to mix up the track order on this one - you can adjust the bonus tracks!Cancel my subscription to the Ressurection

will do. how do we want to end it? More uplifting? Like you said, the Timeless Melody that we have is more sad, but I don't know if that's how we want to end it. Light Becomes Stars is hopeful, positive. Do we want to end it on a more uplifting note? I don't know, just a suggestion. I'll have a listen to the Manchester one again and the London one.
Just read what you said about the bonus tracks, Maybe we can rearrange them? Find a more definitive way to end it?
Listened to the Stockholm Rival, very good version IMO. Milan is also good too. I like them both equally. Both have perfect lyrics.
but the version we have now is good too, even though Ed does eff up the lyrics
Wasn't as noticeable when I first listened to the whole thing, more noticeable now. Still like it0 -

Really ?tremors wrote:I think we should finish on timeless melody rather than I got you, but I'm not sure if this is the best version to end on. I like it a lot, but it I've heard it performed quite differently.
Nope. Ok.0 -

The reason I think Timeless Melody is a good track to end on is that the song is sad but can be uplifting at the same time - 'poignant', and I think has some very relevant lyrics. So I think finding a different version of this track might be a good idea for our ending.Cancel my subscription to the Ressurection
