Sure, having your cookies cleared, having Firefox, even having your CC ready for Copy and Paste are all Helpful Hints.

But I've been doing this for a while through Ticketmaster and I've seen a pattern of success that might help you get to the show.

This only applies to online tryers. When you get to the page of how many tickets you want, if you really want to go, put in "1." Yes, that means you probably won't go with friends unless they're doing the same thing on another computer and you just can't sit together.

But I'm being very honest when I say that I've seen and talked with many who say they've had great success with going to playoff games, concerts, etc. for shows that sold out in minutes because they put in "1" for the amount of tickets they want. Considering that the venues are only equipped for 2000 fans, that may be the way to go. Just "food" for thought.

I totally agree, I suggested this to someone earlier. I've gotten the best seats I've ever gotten by getting 1 through TM.

  • I would suggest having an account already set up with credit card info stored on TM's site. I've had my visa stored with TM for years and have never had a problem. It saves you the time of entering it in while you can be searching with other browsers for better tickets.

This is true. Don't forget there are timers for every page once you select the show. For instance, you have 2:00 to confirm your address, etc. So it's good to have an account setup. I'd be curious to know who is going for what show tomorrow. Wonder how to setup a poll.

It is because the system looks for the first open seat when you choose 1. Imagine the x's are sold and o's are open seats. a row in TM looks like this

    xxxxxxxxoxxxxxoxxxxxoxxoxxx

If you choose 2 then you would get none because there are no 2 together, but there are 3 singles. I used to work at TM (well the music store had a TM) and this is completely true. The system looks for the first available seats, so you will improve your seating as well as have a better chance when seats are nearly gone.

Also rows often have odd numbered seats and most people buy an even amount of tickets (usually 2) so there's often a left over seat somewhere.

That's good to know and makes sense. If you can get 2 together through TM for 2000-seat type of venues, you're good. But while you're wasting time doing that, people will gobble up the "1's."

Thanks Lukey. Imagine an acoustic Lukin by the Vedd-man (without band)?

i got 3rd row sidestage in DC for PJ just becasue of this... the seats were right in with the 10c seats and were even better then alot of the 10c seats... the rows had 21 seats.. the ten club took up 20 with 10 pairs and seat 21 of every row was available... i bought mine and checked back and que'd up 1 best available and it just moved 1 row back, seat 21... this was weeks after the initial tm sale

    really great seat... mccreadys side

TM has booths at participating Macys stores--
call your local Macys to see if they have the TM booth ( usually found near the gift wrapping area ) . If they do , there might not even be a line at the TM booth, you might get the pick of the bunch if 1 ) youre on line early and 2 ) they have competent staff workjing the TM machine.

This is the reason you can't pick your tickets, by the time you pick some they have sold out and every time you release to look for more, you get pushed further back. When I sold Benaroya tickets, I had over 200 people in line and only the first person got some. I sold just a single pair from our outlet and then was berated for an hour by disgruntled PJ fans. I feel the 10Club's pain.

Is this really a good method Bath? Don't the vendors go online like our customers really would? Don't know the advantage if they're looking up stuff we would normally do.
