  • In my school only a few people listen to metal but the ones that do aren't really hardcore or anything. So here is the list a lot of it is grungr 'cos my generation sucks:

    Bush
    I Mother Earth
    Melvins
    Mudhoney
    Screaming Trees
    Shadows Fall
    Silverchair
    Sonic Youth

These bands are all well known i think....

Maybe not to some people, but if they know a little about music they have heard of these, and anyone on this board must know who these all are.

Sweet band with an awesome lead guitarist. Just got their CD on Wednesday and it's quickly become my favorite debut of the year. Another would be Atomship.

I've known some of those guys since their Sea Of Souls days. I'm glad they're doing well now.

Well, they still have to get their music out to more areas than Seattle and their home state of Virginia but I think they'll do quite well. I think they rock and would love to see them live.

  • My all time favourite singer is Jimmy Gnecco of the band OURS... he is passion in a bottle.... I am sure that everyone will know who they are by this time next year, but for now they are relatively unknown

Another upcoming name is The Neverending White Lights..... Daniel Victor is the mastermind of this band. His album includes guest performances by Raine Maida (OLP), Dallas Green (alexisonfire), Daniel Greaves (The Watchmen), my beleoved Jimmy Gnecco (Ours), the lead singer of 311 Nick Hexum... plus many other good names.

This album is very awesome, and for the Canadian folk- I am sure you will be hearing too much of the lead single very soon, cuz everyone loves Dallas Green... and that song is soo good its retarded.

Here is an article/interview I did on the Neverending White Lights:

The Original Don Dadas - Salisbury, MD

They played their "last" show last night, or atleast last for a while. But they are a mix of Sublime, Snoopdog, and DMB

Y Niwl ('The Fog') - new band from Wales who play retro instrumental surf rock. Sounds like the soundtrack to an unmade Tarantino movie! They're getting a lot of buzz, and they're going to be acting as backing band for Gruff Rhys (Super Furry Animals singer) on his upcoming solo tour. Check out their album (stream or buy) here: http://yniwl.bandcamp.com/

Great band! They are called "the angels" in most countries. They called themselves Angel City in the U.S. So that they wouldn get confused with another band called Angel.

Believe me, when I was growin up, I thought the worst thing you could turn out to be was normal, So I say freaks in the most complementary way. Here's a song by a fellow freak - E.V
  • Endochine. An Austin band that broke up a few years ago. Harmonious guitar power-pop, can go hard and soft, lots of hooks and great melodies. Two singer/guitarists traded off lead vocals while the other harmonized. They had all the goods to get popular, never understood why they didn’t, probably just needed a bit more time together. I saw them many times when they came up to Dallas and a few times out in LA. I chatted with one of them before one of the LA shows and remembered noticing that he seemed really down. I read later about their breakup and one of them said that it hit them while they were driving to a show in LA that they were in the wrong band. I think that was the day I must have met them, they were not into it that night. Otherwise every time I saw them they were great. Influenced by Jeff Buckley, Radiohead, and sounded better than Coldplay before Coldplay was Coldplay.

One of the singers, Casey Macpherson, broke it up and founded the band Alpha Rev, which is still going.
