So what's the verdict, current "Rival" being replaced with a different one? Maybe a different "Timeless Melody"?

I'm not sure we've reached a verdict concerning Timeless Melody.
Rival gets to stay, I guess. It seems to be the consensus so far.

It sucks that we are getting so good at this that our Rough Drafts are sounding like final versions.

I have mixed feelings about that one - it's musically more uplifting but I find the vocals more pensive somehow.
As I understand it, the discussion still includes London, Oslo and Manchester (current).

We go with the Oslo version of "Timeless" and a different version of "Rival" and call it Version 1. I will put it together and send it out and then you and Tremors can decide if the Rough Draft is better than Version 1 or if Version 1 is better.

The reason that these projects work out is that Cameron4President is so decisive! I concur with all of the above. I will listen to the changes on what is already an outstanding collection.

I also concur about Don't Be Shy - especially if we are to use that in the Riot Act project

Version 1 uploading now, link will be PM'd in a few moments. IMO, I think it sounds better than the "Rough Draft"

Have been listening to the changes in the mix today, and had a good listen right through a couple of times. I definitely think the new timeless melody is better here, and does work for me as an ending.

I was quite attached to the previous version of rival which I actually appreciated more than I've ever done with this song. The new version didn't hit the same spot, something about the vocal quality and emotion. But seeing as this is my least favourite pearl jam track I don't think my opinion should carry much weight on rival.

Overall I think it stands as a great collection, especially with an oslo tm ending. I would be hesitant about changing it too much from now, or losing some of the very affecting performances we have. So if people have strong feelings about replacing some of the key numbers, they better be able to come up with a scorching alternative!!

The problem with the 2000 European Tour is that it is too good. Too many great performances!!! The band brings it, and the crowd does too!!
