  Once I was in an AIDS Ride and I lost my water bottle going up this long long hill in 101 degree heat. I was NOT turning around to get it, next thing i heard an engine and for some reason i had a feeling. I stuck my left hand out like I was about to receive a baton and a van of people slapped my water bottle back in hand FILLED with cold water. They took off and I kept on riding my 106 mile day.

  Made me think of a similar story g under p, I was hiking in Arches NP and it was way hotter than I had expected. I had water but the sun was beating down really hot. I thought I was going to have a heat stroke. Another couple on the trail gave me their bandanna to keep and soaked it with water so I could wet my face and neck. I probably would have collapsed from heat exhaustion without it. They rewet it for me several times on the hike even though I had my own water with which I could have done the same thing. They were very kind to take care of a perfect stranger.

  I have a vivid memory of being about 8 years old and my parents getting ready to fo to an Iron Maiden concert in a small club ... they had motorbikes so were in their jeans and motorbike jackets.
