I am not sure that I want "Alive" on this set for a few reasons.

If we go with an Improv., lets place it after "Parting Ways", it will be a good transition from album to bonus material.

There are two nice improvs :
one is a bit bluesy, from San Sebastian and the other one, I tend to favor over the first one, is from the Rock Im Park show.

I'm sure I don't want Alive on this compilation for various reasons, the first being that I don't see why Alive should be on it.

If we don't go for an improv, there's also the alternative choice of picking Soldier of Love, either from London 1 or Katowice 2.

That Rock Im Park Improv is great (just listened!) -

I think a great ending might well be

Have been away for a while and am trying to catch up. You guys worked fast when I was away !
Been listening to a lot of different versions of Light Years this morning, before realising I was running late to go to the train station and left it there.
The funny thing about this song is that, according to the show, it is totally different in mood and atmosphere. You've got 'rock-ish' light years, 'energetic' light years, even 'laid back' light years and 'softer', more intimate light years, like Prague's and Lisbon's. Katowice 2's is rather intense, all the opposite from Paris', where, as often, there's a slight lack of commitment.
This being said, I do agree that Prague's Light years works best and has the right mood for that compilation.

Yep, and a vote for Oslo too if I recall correctly.

I had a tie between Cardiff and Oslo yesterday night and that's where I left it.

Might be worth it to check this Oslo version again too.

Soldier of love doesn't help solving the dilemma, since it's either from London 1 or Katowice 2, and both slots are already taken.

Far from final, just a rough draft. Usually goes like this:

Sat + Sun = working track list
Mon + Tue = Rough Draft
Wed = Version 1

I realised that France doesn't seem to have been represented so far, so I listened to the Paris version of Evacuation - and whilst it wasn't the most 'rocky' aggressive version, it does have an interesting and more unique feel and and sound that works very well, and has a slightly dark element to it - so I would be interested to see what people think about this as a possible inclusion.

As for the Improv - seeing as we have more limited choices, and we want to get the right improv from a smaller selection, I think we should consider waiving the 'one show' rule for this track, and including the Rock Im Park version, which is easily the best improv of the ones I have been listening, and one that I think will stand up longer term on a compilation like this, because the lyrics are so good.

Just my two pennies!!

man, i need to go back and listen to those 2000 shows, especially europe. good thing I went ahead and bought that whole tour. I remember the poland shows and the UK shows sticking out for some reason. It's been awhile since I've listened.
