That's a nice surprise, and so fast. Not from USA, nevertheless good news. More people get to hear PJ, what's not to love.
I wonder if we will get some unreleased stuff, there is that line: 'unreleased material from the band's personal music library'? This could speed up new stuff, too. I know I would be eager to show off if I had my own radio station. :D

this is all kinds of awesome

Yeah, good news for me and my new blackberry too. The possibilities are endless when it comes to live show feeds as well - surely?

Give all the money to Pearl Jam - you know they spend wisely!!

    Ok, some answers here...I hope...

PJ Radio as it is now online isn't going anywhere, and will remain and continue on its quest to bring you, the ten club member and fan the greatest ongoing stream of PJ music and tour updates, interviews, etc.
And what's special about PJ Radio online is the international reach and how it brings us closer.

PJ Radio on Sirius/XM will have the same vibe, but will also be for the not so hardcore fan, as well as the hardcore ones. There will be opportunities to do things there that we have yet to explore online, so everyone should consider this a great thing for both avenues of PJ Radio. Personally, I'm really looking forward to the fan roundtable show where we can get all of you involved calling in and having great weekly topics to explore. Live broadcasts of shows? It's my dream as well as yours, so let's all just keep our fingers crossed and see where it goes.

Hey, and congrats on the new job the rob!!

what i'm looking forward to is the interaction and opening up of all of the pearl jam collection. something similar to the grateful dead channel with interaction from fans and members of the band down the road. complete shows with no commercials at all.. guest spots from eddie's home is possible thru satellite radio for example.

would be cool to have some self pollution radio from back in the day and my first request for a live show would be birmingham 2003 in april. 2ND COLDEST PEARL JAM SHOW EVER....
  • Oh Happy Day - Sirius in one car, XM in the other. Yesssssssss

I have been enjoying the Springsteen channel. but the boss will have to take a back seat.

  • YES YES YES! this is great news! let's try and get it on iphone app aswell instead of having to go through that webpage. in fact, let's get an update for the app period! Until then, more than happy to enjoy the guys on sirius
Keep on Jammin' in the Free World!

i would've taken a limited run. like they did with led zeppelin and i think ac/dc. but cool that it's permanent. it's taking over the jam-on channel. i don't if that channel will be moved or not.

I'm so glad i got a LIFETIME subscription in 2005. Well worth it, as it paid for itself in a little more then 3 yr.s. I do ALOT of driving, so i get plenty of time to listen to Sirius. Now, just another GREAT reason why i like Sirius: PEARL JAM!!!!!
  • First off, I'd like to answer that last fellow's "Ma Ma Monkey" with a "Fla Fla Flunkie".

I also would like to say that this might be a good opportunity for Ed to bring back Monkey Wrench Radio with a much larger audience. Definitely looking forward to the Fan Roundtable show...Possible live streaming during tours and also maybe the ability to debut a new album to a massive audience, like when they published the Backspacer player on the website!
  • Is there a fa fa foo hi parody of a PJ song? If not, there needs to be!

Sirius + XM does not a
    Monopoly make!
    Puhlease.

Am I the only on that is a little unhappy here?

I am a little selfish. I dont want Nickleback and Creed fans tuning in and telling the rest of us how great Pearl Jam is. I can just imagine the twits yaking on and on about how great Pearl Jam is live when they have never been to a show. Makes me throw up a little.

This will be the first time my receiver moves from 100/101 in a long time. Not that I don't like the other content. The hair band station and old school hip hop are awesome. However, I have found that the sound quality is horrendous. I realize the music is digitized for transmission, but it sounds like a really bad CD rip. I'm not sure why that is. Yes, I realize a car is not a perfect listening environment, but the broadcasts are bad. A coworker of mine in Canada says his sounds good, and I remember that being the case in his car. I wonder if it is a function of the Sirius receiver?
