Pearl Jam Radio comes to Sirius/XM

I guess I'm not seeing the big deal here. I have every studio and/or official release plus tons of live shows. I can have Pearl Jam radio at home or in my car via my iPod anytime I want without having to pay that evil corporation $13/month. I had XM and my experience after the merger was horrible and so I cancelled as soon as my subscription ran out and I never plan to go back. My digital music collection blows them out of the water and I don't listen to sports or talk.0

like the late, great Mitch Hedberg said...
"I did an interview on XM radio and they told me you can swear on XM radio...I said of course you can, because no one listens to XM radio! You can swear in the woods, too!"
all radio is bad radio (no pun intended)
at least I haven't heard Even Flow in an elevator yet... :?"No way to save someone who won't take the rope, and just lets go..."0 -
From what I've read the channel will be interactive with one of the guys from ten club. Hosting im sure at some point the band will drop in since they could do the channel anywhere maybe even follow pearl jam while touring playing there shows live via satellite radio0

Big fan on XM, got it with my 2009 Honda accord and renewed after the 90 month trial. So this is just an added bonus. The decades channels are great, Lithium is great, Old school rap is great and the Virus station with Opie & Anthony, Ron & Fez is comedy gold!!!!I personally enjoy XM it goes great with my 2 hour round trip drive into work everyday.
THIS IS AWESOME!! My wife is really gonna roll her eyes on this one!!0 -

looks like i might be keeping sirius after howard leaves
I really hope Howard doesn't leave, but agree, it is now a reason to keep if he does leave.
Remember when Howard left FM radio for Sirius? He started talking about it over a year in advance.
IMO, he's not going anywhere.Presidential Advice from President-Elect Mike McCready: "Are you getting something out of this all encompassing trip?"0 -
This is cool. Hope we can still listen here on the site to PJ radio though like we've been. I like it. Please don't take this away..I wish I was an alien at home behind the sun.....
I wanna race..with the sundown..I want a last breath..I don't let out...0 -
aspoonfulweighsaton wrote:Sirius and XM would have both folded if they didn't merge. As mentioned before, it's not a monopoly. I can't think of a more unnecessary expense than satellite radio, so if someone is willing to pay for it (like me, but only at reduced rates) then so be it. It's not like an electric company or something people actually need.
Exactly.
If you want your music for free, or even pay for it, you can get it from Pandora, Slacker, iTunes, any number of internet sites, CDs, vinyl, etc.Presidential Advice from President-Elect Mike McCready: "Are you getting something out of this all encompassing trip?"0 -

Ok, some answers here...I hope...
PJ Radio as it is now online isn't going anywhere, and will remain and continue on its quest to bring you, the ten club member and fan the greatest ongoing stream of PJ music and tour updates, interviews, etc.
And what's special about PJ Radio online is the international reach and how it brings us closer.
PJ Radio on Sirius/XM will have the same vibe, but will also be for the not so hardcore fan, as well as the hardcore ones. There will be opportunities to do things there that we have yet to explore online, so everyone should consider this a great thing for both avenues of PJ Radio. Personally, I'm really looking forward to the fan roundtable show where we can get all of you involved calling in and having great weekly topics to explore. Live broadcasts of shows? It's my dream as well as yours, so let's all just keep our fingers crossed and see where it goes.

headline should read Pearl Jam supports illegal media monopoly.
Hey, I thought you guys were against this sort of thing, right????
http://www.thenation.com/blog/musicians ... ?page=full
not even close to a monopoly. Apparently now Sirius is the only place to listen to music. forget about regualar radio, ipods, pandora, streaming, digital tv music channels, mtv, vh1, BET, etc.0 -
Can we get the guys from Stern's Superfan Round Table to join in?
