Naive? Other bands can and DO tour the South. Do they hate their families more than PJ's members, or do they like their fans more that Pearl Jam does? I'm guessing they like their families as much as PJ does, so that leaves fans or money. Pearl Jam does not tour the south because of money or lack of care of fans. That's all there is to it.
I get to see the band several times a year because I have the means to travel, but you New York North East people should stay out of the conversation when it comes to topics like this because New Yorkers complain when PJ visits East Rutherford or Long Island instead of MSG. How was Newark not sold out this year? If you are such super fans, why wasn't Newark sold out? Why wasn't Boston sold out?
.
and no we complain we they play msg and don't play long island or new jersey. it's been 7 years since they played long island. do you think that's fair to fans of long island.

that is the most laughably naive thing I've ever heard. they consistently make quality music. and they tour what fits their schedules. people have families and other considerations (like possibly environmental reasons). do you have a family that you care about? environment to care about?
just be grateful that they're still together and doing good things!
his point is dead on. they'd rather play chicago then alpine valley and when was the last time they played texas a few shows in a row this band couldn't even sellout amphitheaters in the midwest and it's cause they haven't toured their since 03 and 04. 10c tickets for the midwest were up in the goods section for weeks, thats pathetic for a band that cares so much bout their fans  . i know so cause i checked every damn day.Ron: I just don't feel like going out tonight

hey bootlegger10 just want to say sorry for coming at you.. the "when the band cared about music" caught my eye, and well I got a little hot coming out of the gate. I don't agree with a lot of what you say, but I do agree when you mention we all are entitled to our opinions. peace.
let's get back to talking about Two Deaths on Ten Live Legs!0 -

3. My opinion is that this thread is already full of hot air.
4. After reading your posts, it is my opinion that you are getting worked up about nothing. It is not my intention to call you out for having an opinion. I just think that the original people that you were commenting to are not listening to your argument, so why waste your time and effort in fighting back so much. It makes you look angry.
5. I think that we all need to chill out and go back to making fun of this "so-called" release.
6. I am sorry if you took my comments the wrong way.
I understand. I'll continue to reply though to people who call me asinine or naive just so that this place can still be a place where you can state opinions and defend them against the folks who believe PJ can do no wrong and want to control what is said on the board.
You are projecting homie. First of all what you said was completely off base, a bit asinine and very naive. Like you have idea what music means to the members of Pearl Jam. Like you think you can sum up their motives in some bizarro comparisons you make in your head. It's not reality, it's your perception of the band, and any rational person should know that ones perception of a rock group through commercial products like music and records should not EVER be the basis in which you judge someone on a personal level. You start to sound a little unbalanced. You do not know the members of Pearl Jam, you do not know their motives, you think you do but you don't. SO you shouldn't speak to people here like you do.

What planet do you live on? When has the ten club "churned" anything out? Please point out the over saturation of Pearl Jam products that are "churned" out.
I swear it's laugh out loud funny the stuff you can find on here.
- Substandard sounding boots the past few years
- $90 hoodies
- Socks

- $300 ski jacket
- High ticket prices

long island? drive the 40 minutes to msg. what an utterly ridiculous post. that is like if people in philly would be pissed that it took pearl jam 11 years to "come back" to philly in 2003....despite playing in camden (right across the river) tons of times in between.
i'm still pissed pj hasn't played at my high school yet.

So don't buy any of it. I don't see why the need to constantly rehash the same gripes. If you don't like the prices - don't buy the merchandise. If someone else wants to spend $300 on a ski jacket that's their business.
But please stop all the hating. Embrace what you love about the band and discard the rest. They are a business and they have employees and expenses to cover. The end result is that every 3 years we get a kick ass album that costs less than $15 and the opportunity to see them play live at prices way below those for any other band of their stature in the business.
You have a lot of self righteous energy being expended in this forum. Why not direct it in a positive direction? Woah woah woah....backup. Didn't say I was buying any of it. I had mentioned a few pages earlier that when people say they will buy anything like one poster did, that will lead to more substandard merch. Solarworld then responded saying there was no substandard merch or something along those lines. All I did was provide examples. It's true......when you have people here saying they will literally buy anything the band puts out, you are opening the door for overpriced and substandard items.
It's funny that all of these arguments are due to silence from the Ten Club. Not the mods...the 10 Club. Rather than argue and complain, people would be excitedly speculating if we got so much as a yes or no answer. But we didn't and here we are unhappy and arguing.0
