... and a US pint is about 20% smaller than a UK pint.

I don't buy pints of milk....3 half gallons (½ gallon=4.8 pints) about $6 (we buy organic)
a pint of beer ranges from $2-$9

Reasonably regularly ... and I grew in a pub (folks owned it)

Thrilla: Mc Donalds does not serve beer
Chime: yes we do, usually the bar/pub has to kick out the kiddies by 10pm, and if they serve hard liquor, they MUST serve food. There are sections where the kids are not allowed at all. I have been to bars where kids are running around at 11pm...
