but the vinyl could be considered merch

I understand that the collectors are excited about this-heck I am a collector as well!

But as I have said from the beginning there are too many questions surrounding this "release"
I think its crazy to spend that kind of money without knowing what you are getting.

when you go back to that point you are absolutely right, i still dont understand why people have ordered it when they have no idea what it is, especially on the limited edition notion.....

that said people have, and its only down to peoples love of PJ that they did this......

for once I saw the light  (says in proud voice!!)

I agree that I would have a really hard time parting with that much money without knowing what the product is. But considering that, for the most part, we seem to be a community of collectors, and there is a certain cache with being able to say that you own something rare, I can understand the feeling of not wanting to miss out on something that perhaps one day one can boast about owning (of course I also understand that this is not the motivation for everyone :) ).

I know I definitely had that moment where I pictured myself with what might be considered to be a PJ treasure in the future and really considered buying it. But I just couldn't bring myself to pay that much for something that I might not end up even wanting after I knew what it was, even if it ended up being a rarity.

Dimitris, I for one can't understand the silence. Surely they don't think European customers will shell out to purchase this from them? 10c burned their bridges with us with the Ten super-deluxe set, and the Backspacer cd.

The 10c Backspacer cd purported to offer purchasers access to material that the regular cd version did not. That promise was broken, and people like me ended up paying extra money for a cd that I could purchase for E15 in a shop 100 yards from my house. The only difference? It came in a fancy hardcover case.

The Ten super-deluxe was shipped for free to US customers, yet all overseas customers were charged $50. Outrageous, in my view. With added customs, most of us overseas paid something north of $250. Customs were our fault, yes, but the impression given was that a great number of the sets would be signed and distributed randomly. Neither of these impressions proved to be accurate. 10c knew very well that some of us would sell our souls for the possibility of a signed set, and would take a gamble.

There is not a hope in hell I will purchase this set from the 10c.

Now we have a situation where 10c members have laid out money for a boxset, and are currently in a state of limbo as to the status of their purchase. Nobody is asking for detailed information (though that would be nice). As the serialthrilla and pdalowsky have said, a simple 'yes, the set is coming, full details to follow', would suffice. They could even mention that the 10c will have special offers.
The 10c, as a business, needs to communicate with its loyal customers more often.

i understand you complitly,im the one that pay 127 euros extra for eash box 254 total (i order 2 deluxe boxes)..
cos greek ups are thieves.that was the reason, 10c refund me the whole money i pay for those 2 boxes..
so far my personal communicate with 10c is in the best level of service, always help me alot when need it.i understand so far that 10c dont work with the threads and comments in the forum, but with their rythm,+they announce stuff not when there are out from other sources but when they want and they are ready

the same thought process I have !!

yet I have realised recently, that limited edition doesnt really mean that anymore - not on a new release.....and the market will be flooded with these initally....

THis may be painfully obvious, therefore making me sound like an idiot, but is it possible that the folks sitting at the computer who manage this little delusion called the 10club simply DO NOT KNOW what the deal is. I would wager that Kat and Sea and Santos are close to the last in the chain to know such things? So, why doesnt everyone chill out!
I hold the pain, release me!

your reading to much into what im asking...as i said i want a one word asnwer is this to be a offical release yes /no...not askin whats in it .

the proof is all over this thread to be seen ..why true to cover it up be saying "no info at this time".just put peoples mind to rest that have spent alot of money on this.thats not to much to ask..
if they say yes its official ,members especially from europe will order it from whats records..
they want their members buy it from 10c..,i guess u understand that...

dimitris,I totally get what you're saying here. My only problem with your logic, though, is that several people have already expressed here that they would prefer to purchase whatever this is through 10C rather than What Records, and I'm sure most of the US folks feel the same way.

But since 10C has not made any mention of whether or not they will be offering this product ever, many more people probably chose to buy it from What Records just to ensure that they can get a copy. And if it should go back up on What Records, and there is still no word from 10C, even more people will probably buy it from them. However, if 10C would come out and say that yes, this product will be coming out, and that it will be eventually offered here, many people would wait to buy it from here.
    Does this make any sense?
yes,and u are right...i really think soon,we will have official news...to tell u the truth i dont care when ill learn, tomorrow or next week whats is in the box..ill buy it cos i collect as much as i can..ill buy it from 10c not for any other seller...i feel that i trust 10c that they trying their best to make us happy..the problem i have with company service is when there are inpersonal and dont care..those guys work here so far always try to help me with issues..so im calm and cos i think that they arent the ones that make the call, like announce a release now, someone above then do it,or atleast the must take the final ok,so ill wait as long need it,even with any more info about that box..maybe even santos, tim dont know yet whats in the box,so cool..ill wait.
in the end i wait 15 years to see them live, who gives a fuck for some days weeks for just a box..

Kat and Sea as I understand it are the mods on the board only, im not even sure they work within 10club HQ...

as for Santos, he must work closely with the tenclub staff like Tim Bierman......the bands president....I struggle to believe it would be difficult for someone receiving an email to pop their head up and shout 'is this a new release?' if they initially didnt know about it.......

That said, I dont even know why Im bothering here, I really dont care that much, I'll just be glad to get this thing if it comes out, if it doesnt so be it, onto the next studio album we go

Maybe if we stop talking about it, they'll have to spill the beans fearing we all jumped ship to the Bieber boards

  • agree with most above posts..

but i dont think 10c is a profit run business really...we pay $20-25 to join that should cover most costs..so i cant see 10c giving a hoot where we buy the good from..i dont see it beening run to make any money.

i very much doubt they have any say in setting cost of cds, posters ,t-shirts.

I think it it very much done to make money. I don't think there would be much interest from the common casual fan for PJ socks and onesies for babies but their diehard fans who pay to be here eat that stuff up. The people here are rabid AND we pay $20 to access this stuff. Great business sense on their part. We are paying for the privilege to spend money on their tickets and goods.

And I agree with what someone said about how we aren't paying for news and nowhere does it promise us news but I don't think it's too much to ask sometimes.
