Takamine neck reset.....any advice?

it sounds like a structural defect and if it is under warranty it should be covered no matter the age, as long as you did not get it wet and it bowed or something. that is the route i would go initially. all they can say is "no"...takamine has a great reputation so i am sure they stand by their products.

i had a similar situation with a black gibson les paul custom 5 years ago or so. i ordered it from gibson and the neck was twisted out of the box. i called and complained and i sent it back and they gave me an alpine white one ($250 more expensive) at no cost. they even paid for shipping of both guitars. so if a massively large company like gibson can do it, i am sure that a company with a great reputation like takamine will make it right by you. let us know what you find out.

that is good news. i am sure that that $150 must cover shipping and insurance and stuff. they probably figure that if they are giving you a better guitar you can at least pay to ship it lol...

i have my own guitar tech that takes care of the needs of my band, i suggest going to a mom and pop store for repairs and set ups and stuff. those small shop owners usually know more and do a better job than the guys at a big box store like guitar center. just my opinion though...glad it is gonna work out for ya.
