OT...Incubus anyone?
Options
Just recently got into these guys, really dig all of their stuff. Seem to have a lot of the same qualities as PJ in the sense that they have many varying interests beyond just the band. Two tunes to check out: "11 a.m", and "Circles".

First off, wrong location.
Second, Incubus blows. They're nothing like PJ in that they're pretentious douches and Brandon tries to be all philosophical but comes off like my drunk uncle trying to talk about the meaning of the matrix, they're a joke.
But everyone's entitled to their opinion, so enjoy! :-)2006- Boston I
2008- Boston I+II
2009- Toronto, Philly III+IV
2010- Bristow, Hartford, Boston, Newark0 -

I realize this isn't an Incubus "location", hence the OT (off topic). Some would argue that E.V. comes off as a "pretentious douche" as well, so I suppose it's all a matter of your point of view. I hate to sound anti-PJ, but I would argue that the writing of the band has been weak since Yield. I guess I, like a lot of fans here, keep hoping for a strong return musically and lyrically. But my hope is fading. I will say that I believe that Avacado was the best lyrically since No Code.0 -
Aspenites.
They are called Aspenites.
And Incubus is cool, I like some of their stuff."It's as comfortable as can be. But when you're on stage playing with Neil, well -- it's one thing to be at the zoo and watch an animal pace around its cage. It's another to be in the cage with him." -Eddie Vedder0 -
i've been an incubus fan since i was 12 or 13 and i'm 21 now. it's amazing how that band has evolved. to honestly appreciate them, i'd recommend going through albums from first to last. brandon does seem pretentious sometimes, but he's mentioned that he's totally aware of it. the thing is, he is unconventionally interviewed, meaning that he gets asked off-the-wall questions concerning science, death, etc. so i'm sure being so opinionated, it's difficult not to come off pretentious in certain situations.
anyway, check them out live if you ever get a chance. they're actually amazing...great live show. also, there's always love in the air...you sense that they actually enjoy eachother...which is becoming rare with newer bands.i've been in my mind, it's such a fine line...0 -

And to the original poster, there is a specific forum called Other Music to talk about other bands
It's from 94ish?

Cool website about Neil and PJ collaboration and how it all started."It's as comfortable as can be. But when you're on stage playing with Neil, well -- it's one thing to be at the zoo and watch an animal pace around its cage. It's another to be in the cage with him." -Eddie Vedder0 -

Still... why post something that's off topic when there's another section on the SAME FORUM for posts about other bands.
And as far as Incubus goes. They were way better when they were actually funky. I find them just bland now.Hello, I love you. Won't you tell me your name?0 -
I like Incubus. They put on a great show.
I have to admit, I think they try a little too hard at times...0 -
Incubus is in my top 5 easy! If (God forbid) anything were to happen with Pearl jam, Incubus would be the band I would start seeing multiple times on tour. Brandon Boyd is passionate in his lyrics and singing. Mike, the guitar player is nothing less than amazing! I have seen them 5 times and have never been dissapointed. Amazing Band. Totally underated band thanks to Mr. Boyds female following. There's alot to be said for Nowhere0

i have seen them a few times, once last year in Nijmegen supporting Pearl Jam.
I really enjoy Morning View2003 - Sydney x3,2006 - Reading Festival,2007 - Katowice, London, Nijmegen, Rock Werchter,2008 - MSG x2, Hartford, Mansfield x2, Beacon Theater,2009 - Melbourne, Sydney,2010 - I watched it go to fire!2011 - EV Brisbane x3, Newcastle, Sydney x3,2012 - Manchester x 2, Amsterdam x2, Prague, Berlin x2, Stockholm, Oslo, Copenhagen,2014 - Sydney, EV Sydney x3
I wave to all my Friends... Yeah!0 -
I like Incubus. I don't think they are on the same level as Pearl Jam, actually far from it. But I know most of their songs and I would say they are my second favorite band.
I do think that they need to switch up their God damn set list. I watched twice in 2007 and the set list was almost identical.Writing checks that others pay.....0 -
Incubus is amazing. Ignore all the bashing. If you post anything that someone has a different opinion about then all they can come up with to do is start bashing. Brandon is an amazing songwriter, he just gets a lot of shit because of all his female fans. Mike Einzinger is really starting to showcase his skills, my goodness, have you seen him perform sick sad little world live.... its a treat. Also, your right, Avocado was pj's best since yield, and I will always support them and everything they do, but its fine to branch out musically. If you are looking for another band that is sick musically and very creative, take a look at Coheed and Cambria. PJ, Incubus, and Coheed are 3 amazing bands, but I think Coheed and Incubus really challenge themselves album to album.0

Do you bring Coheed into every discussion?0 -
LOVE them"The joke in your language won't come out the same" (Tom Petty)

Click on the second link on this page http://www.wbcn.com/Toucher---Rich--10-Most-Wanted-WBCN-com-Podcasts/2785329 and listen to the podcast. Fred Toucher (the radio show host) is plastered during this interview and instead of having fun or defusing the situation, Brandon goes into mega douche mode.
And if you live in the Boston area and don't listen to Toucher and Rich on BCN, you really should.2006- Boston I

I'm a big Incubus Fan. They are really good and young and bring a lot to the table. Make Yourself is one of my favorite albumsThe best use of Life is Love.
The best expression of Love is Time.
The best time to Love is Now.
I'm never as good as when you're there.........0 -

I don't blame Brandon for not talking much in that interview. That was one of the worst interviews I've ever heard... never once did I think that it was remotely funny. I had to turn it off when they started doing that stupid noise over and over again.
I don't know anything else about Toucher, so I'm not trying to bash them... but that interview sucked!!Whoa, chill bro... you know you can't raise your voice like that when the lion's here.0 -
