Sorry man, but they've released 4 really good albums. That takes them way out of 15 minute range.0 -
Science was a classic, ground-breaking. Totally rediculous. Every song on that thing jams.
The next two albums were just playing out the string
That last record was an abomination, freakin' haaawrible. Sick Sad Little World (or whatever) wanted to jam, but it was a phony.
I saw them a couple years ago, for the third time. The first two shows were great, that last show is still easily the worst show I've seen from any band at any venue, including the local douche with his acoustic in downtown Delray. Just a set full of their weakest, pop-iest crapola, no good jams at all. They broke out vitamin almost like it was a favor.
They are massive sellouts and I have long written them off after that last show I saw.
Too bad, too, they can play. They'll be opening for the Jonas Bros very soon, you watch. It's either that or the fair. I can't say enough bad things about them, mostly because of squandered talent.0 -
mrfrogman wrote:I hate to sound anti-PJ, but I would argue that the writing of the band has been weak since Yield. I guess I, like a lot of fans here, keep hoping for a strong return musically and lyrically. But my hope is fading. I will say that I believe that Avacado was the best lyrically since No Code.
Oh please...
Pearl Jam could come up with stuff Incubus put out in their sleep...

First of all....I AM HAPPY TO SEE CHATTER ABOUT OTHER BANDS THAN PEARL JAM IN PORCH. Especially Incubus.
Incubus is great. They've had good and bads but mostly very solid stuff.
I think a lot of similarities can be drawn between the two bands and that probably has a lot to do with why I like them both so much. Even packaging. It seems to me that Incubus has watched the way PJ does things and in many ways emulates them and comments on it through "mimicry".
To the dude who mentioned Sick Sad Little World Live... you know you're shit. That's a fact.
Brandon is cool as hell. I had the pleasure of meeting him after a tiny show in SF a few years back....this is a cool little story.... anyways.... Bridge School was the very next day and of course PJ was playing and I asked Brandon if they were going to make a surprise appearance at Bridge. They had played the previous year. Brandon's eyes lit up and he said "That's tomorrow?....Oh man we loved playing Bridge. Me and Mike are off to New Zealand tomorrow for a surf trip.... But tell everyone I said Hello."
I thought that was pretty cool. So I was sure to tell everyone.
Bottom line...Incubus is pretty solid through and through.0 -
they've been together about 17 years now...no flash in the pan. i agree with there being similarities between the two...not necessarily with sound, but with who they are as people. it's not fair to bash them personally...we don't know them. both bands have had ups and downs and can be accused of selling out for certain things, but the point is, we don't know the reason behind certain moves that are made. ultimately it seems that both have made music for themselves, that they personally enjoyed, and we are lucky to have such access to it all.i've been in my mind, it's such a fine line...0

Opening for the jonas brothers.... give me a break. Very similar to pearl jam as in they sell out shows everywhere they go, and thats a fact. They do follow pj and make music that they like, and also some of the nicest guys in the world. This band will be around a long time, and be thankful for it.0
