Blind Melon w/Travis Warren

  • Paul David, how did you access all of these b-sides from the early days?

I actually just looked and have less than I thought I did. I think I may have had those on my old pc. These are the few that I have:

    Candy Says
    Out On The Tiles
    Three Is A Magic Number

And the few aforementioned live tracks from the greatest hits album. The No Rain (stripped away version) is fantastic. And as I said, I'm not a big fan of the original.

I was going to see Blind Melon in '95 at my sister's college, but then Shannon died a few months before that. Haven't heard the new "Blind Melon" though

Love Blind Melon, an ex boyfriend got me really into them in about '94, I'd only heard a couple of sings before that .
I often have Blind Melon days, and am sad I never got to see them either with Shannon or Travis. I have friends who saw them at Reading and said it was great.

I have the proper albums/official releases including a live one and a greatest hits, and some Shannon demo tracks his mum put on the net but never found much more than that...

Definitely one of my favourite bands. Soup is right up there with my favourite albums of all time.
Shannon will always be a legend in my eyes. Such charisma, and what a voice?!

I loved For My Friends, even though I admit I was apprehensive about Travis to start with! But I still enjoy listening to it now.

Be good if the guys could find a new singer & come up with some new material. Their talent is sorely missed in my opinion.

I agree with you. The guys really need to find a new singer soon. I was so excited when I heard they were putting an album out with Travis. Although I love For My Friends, it;s not my favorite Blind Melon album. The music is amazing and Travis has a great voice. The lyrics aren't nearly as good as what Shannon would write tho. Some of the lyrics on For My Friends I found a little cheesy at times. Other than that it's a fantastic album!

I really wish Travis Warren didn't leave. They were awesome. Saw them live a couple weeks before the initial split. I listen to For My Friends all the time. Great album.

Anyone else a fan of post-Hoon BM? Are there any b-sides in existence, or live tracks? I have heard of that 4-track ep Deep Cuts the record label put out, but anything else?

I totally agree with you. Warren did a great job and For My Friends is a great album, actually my favorite Blind Melon album.
