Ok, I’m anal.
It’s not that I don’t believe iTunes won’t donate
But why can’t they put on amongst the waves video page that they are in fact donating and list Conservation International Ocean Campaign?
*~Pearl Jam will be blasted from speakers until morale improves~*
lol...hahaha...the complainers are so lame and dumb.
They think a video has to be filled with all sorts of special effects and cost a million dollars.
Something deep and meaningful can be practically free but it DOES take a functioning brain to understand it.
Go pop on your 3-d glasses and watch Avatar or something!
Oh dear dad
Can you see me now
I am myself
Like you somehow
I'll ride the wave
Where it takes me
I'll hold the pain
Release me
Pearl Jam are making a clear statement about the importance of ocean conservation with their latest clip from 2009's Backspacer. Their video for "Amongst the Wave" features stunning footage of crashing waves juxtaposed with shots of the band performing live, and now fans can grab a copy of the clip while aiding a good cause. The video is now up for sale on iTunes, with proceeds going to benefit Conservation International's Marine Programs.
Keep up with Rolling Stone's hottest rock photos.
The video originally arrived on June 30th when the band launched their new Oceans website, which provides fans with factoids about ocean health and conservation efforts. "If we don't consider the fragility and finite capacity of our planets oceans, we may destroy our most precious resource," guitarist Stone Gossard said in a statement. "Our ocean will only survive if the world agrees to sustain her." The video was directed by Ryan Thomas and Brendan Canty.
Avid surfer Eddie Vedder and Co. have joined efforts to aid waters in the Gulf that have been severely damaged by the BP oil spill, and links to the Gulf Restoration Network appear on their Oceans website along with information about renewable energy, ocean acidification, alternative energy, sustainable fishing and beach clean-up work.
In other Pearl Jam news, Gossard's side project Brad — which also features vocalist/pianist Shawn Smith, drummer Regan Hagar and bassist Mike Berg — are also gearing up to release their fourth album on August 10th. Best Friends?, the group's first disc in eight years, is due on Pearl Jam's Monkeywrench Records.
Up here so high I start to shake, Up here so high the sky I scrape, I've no fear but for falling down, So look out below I am falling now, Falling down,...not staying down, Could’ve held me up, rather tear me down, Drown in the river
My favourite line is from Stereogum article: 'Eddie Vedder just keeps on loving the ocean, even after it tried to swallow him whole.' (It links to the article where Eddie had to be saved again.)
i think that they should launch a t shirt for the cause in order to get even more for relief efforts for the cleanup and the fishermen down in the gulph...i sure would buy the shirt!

Actually, wouldn't a Pearl Jam Beach towel be really cool for this cause. I've been trying to find one and am having a hard time with it.

that is true...don't see those anywhere, but it doesn't seem like a marketable item, while it is relevant to the cause. anything would be better financially than a video that's $1.49 that itunes probably claims hosting fees on.
who cares how shitty the vid or how shitty the song is. it's for the mother ocean and for the animals will be extinct eventually if this fucking BP oil spill keeps happening.
you people could bitch bout a free concert if pj ever did one
unfuckingreal
are you smoking crack again?
its not bitching. this is a message board about Pearl Jam. when something new about PJ gets put on here, people will give their opinions on it. its not bitching to say it looks like it was put together by a grade schooler, and just because its about "mother ocean" or some crap doesnt mean that every one should be forced to sit around having a circle jerk to it. get over it, dude.
(and no one would complain if they didnt make an oil spill video. thats just ridiculous.)
no dude i haven't quit doing crack. infact i got a rope around my arm and am getting the needle ready. . i'd sooooo love to say what i really think bout you but you'd probably report for me name calling.
it's a vid to get a section of pearljam.com goin that most people on here probably won't click on. don't you think if this was a offical vid it would be done better kinda like how backspacer was.
Ron: I just don't feel like going out tonight
Sammi: Wanna just break up?
"...Dimitri...He talks to me...'.."The Ghost of Greece..".
"..That's One Happy Fuckin Ghost.."
“..That came up on the Pillow Case...This is for the Greek, With Our Apologies.....”
Sure gets to the point tho... Nice and simple....
Why have a big flashy vid?...
Perhaps the money that was saved instead making a big flashy sellout vid was
donated to the fund..

anyone who hasn't almost been "swallowed whole" by the water hasn't spent much time in her.
