Oh dude that song is so absolutely mindblowingly great word can't give it proper justice.
Over the Hill is also awesome. God I would love the chance to see a show like that in person

Man, wouldn't that be cool as shit if the Robinson bros started that up again during the hiatus? :geek:
It sure would. I'm hoping they will do another one and expand it a little bit...I think it was only like 7 shows they did before.
While we wait though...you oughta familiarize yourself with the North Mississippi Allstars if you haven't already. Luther will be staying busy whether Chris and Rich will or not

Warpaint Live DVD is a must. The sound quality is incredible. And it isn't like the Freak 'n' Roll DVD. It is dark and you can actually see all the lights, smoke, strobes, etc. Looks more like a real concert DVD.

I got mine off ebay for like $5.

Brothers of a Feather? - I have two words for that thing: Driving Wheel.

Flagg, you're not helping my initiative of tryign to be responsible and not spending money I don't have.

Warpaint DVD sounds cool! I regularly plug in Freak n' Roll even if it is to just listen from another room...what an incredible show. The versions of Halfway to Everywhere and Welcome To The Goodtimes on there are unforgettable.

Soul Singing too. I just wish Chris's voice had been in better shape for that show. Marc Ford kills on it though.

True, but his voice wasn't terrible, I thought. Marc indeed does slay in that show.

and yes, Soul Singing...I love, love, love the extended jam.

I am familiar with N.M. Allstars...sweet bluesy stuff. Haven't heard much, but what I have I really really enjoyed. Knowing Luther was in on it really made me search for them.

Am I the only one who feels that Luther is incredibly underrated? Did a great job filling the void of Marc Ford.

Croweology? Yes. But I'm a very big Crowes fan.

If you're an only casual fan, maybe not...but there is still some fantastic music on their regardless.

Luther is incredibly underrated. Dude is great.
NMA is in my top five bands. If you really wanted to dive off in there really good, a good place to start might be the Do It Like We Used To live collection. Also, their Mississippi Folk Music Vol.1 is chock full of acoustic country blues goodness. Bad ass.
Tell you what, when you go about the business of getting Brothers of a Feather you might also be well served to obtain a copy of NMA's Keep on Marchin' dvd...good times. Cody jamming on the electric washboard alone is worth the price of admission

Also, the Do It Like We Used To set has a great documentary with it that is very cool.

Yeah, but it's worth it. 98% of the time I buy music or music DVD's I don't regret it.

Except for that entire Nickelback discography I bought, wow...really should've thought that one through. ;)

For the record, I own nothing associated with Nickelback.

He is the best of the post Marc Ford guitarists, that is for sure. Pre-Ford too I guess. Better than Jeff Cease, Audley Freed, Paul Stacey, etc. If they decided to do something after this hiatus I would be happy with the current lineup. Ford will never come back.

You know who is underrated? Sven. That guy is perfect on bass. And he has been in the band a long time now. So long that I don't even think about Johnny Colt anymore.

I recently sawthat Johnny Colt is now somewhat of like a freelance writer on CNN.com? He has his own sub-page there, I'm sure of it. Has a lot of documentary work if I remember like photography, actual video, writing...

Anyway, Sven is totally perfect. Everything I've heard of him live he really brings it and plays solid.

What happened that would make Ford never return?

A bit of topic but as I roamed around the blogosphere I came across this band earlier today. Chris produced their album and they are on Silver Arrow....four tracks on the site and sounds great to me. Check em out.
I actually remember reading a bit about them somewhere a while back but didn't take much from whatever it was I read

Well, depending on which side you believe, he was fired in 1997 for drug use affecting his playing ability. He returned in 2005 but quit in 2006 on the eve of a tour citing his problems remaining sober. But he quit by fax machine and hasn't spoken to the brothers since. So, he's been in the band twice and both stints ended badly.

    Yeah.. Who still uses fax?
Believe me, when I was growin up, I thought the worst thing you could turn out to be was normal, So I say freaks in the most complementary way. Here's a song by a fellow freak - E.V
