I plan to get the vinyl, but I saw the CD at Best Buy today for $7.99 and thought that was too ridiculous to pass up. EVERYBODY should buy it at that price!

That's why I picked it up as well. I have heard good things about them and bought it based on that.

Haven't even gotten to the 2nd disc and already really like it. I picked up Before the Frost today, too.

Be sure to download the companion album "Until the Freeze". Bluegrass goodness.

Came home to see mine on the kitchen counter, with the shirt, and sticker...opened it up, found another sticker....a very cool packaging set up. I had a lot of fun finding all the signs of their albums in the artwork.

So far, I think my favorite re-working is "Thorn In My Pride". I mean originally it kicks a ton of ass, but this version being stripped down is awesome and the sounds quality is excellent.

I swear everytime I hear new recordings of Chris's voice, it just gets better and better...

There was a period of time on the Warpaint tour that he sounded like shit. I mean, really ragged and burned out. But he saw a doctor and had some treatment done and he's sounded great ever since.

Thorn in My Pride is great. Still loving Hotel Illness and My Morning Song.

  • Man I can't stop listening to this...so good. This band can't go away!
Hotel Illness is probably my favorite but I say that probably because it is one of if not my most favorite Crowes songs. It's all great actually
The drum machine on Share the Ride is kind of sickening to me but even still that's ok.
I agree a bit about selecting She instead of one of the many other covers they do so well, but I've always liked that track so I'll take.
I'm a bit worried I am going to end up addicted to downloading from the live black crowes site now...

Anyone catch them on with Letterman (or was it Leno?) and Kimmel?

I DVR'd the Kimmel performance from last night - will probably watch it tonight.

Well sonofabitch! I got to drinkin' a few cold ones last night and forgot all about them being on.

For those who have Directv....have you seen the 2-hour concert that has been airing on the 101 network? Damn good show of course....I've been wondering if it is the "Warpaint Live" dvd or if it is something else. Any clue?

My Morning Song was great on Leno.

Haven't watched Kimmel yet but I DVR'd it. They played Remedy.

I am DVR-ing Live at the Artist's Den tonight.

And I do believe the concert on Direct TV was the Warpaint Live DVD.

And I felt pretty sure it was the Warpaint dvd because they played the entire album in order. Damn good show....DC, we both need to own a copy of it. You got Brothers of a Feather yet?

No dude, I don't even have the CD. :( Something I need to put an end to ASAP.

If you find the seeds for that money tree, please God send some my way? :P

You're definitely right about us needing to own a copy. I've listened to the album Warpaint LIVE plenty of times and it sounds great.

Warpaint Live DVD is a must. The sound quality is incredible. And it isn't like the Freak 'n' Roll DVD. It is dark and you can actually see all the lights, smoke, strobes, etc. Looks more like a real concert DVD.

I got mine off ebay for like $5.

Brothers of a Feather? - I have two words for that thing: Driving Wheel.

Warpaint DVD sounds cool! I regularly plug in Freak n' Roll even if it is to just listen from another room...what an incredible show. The versions of Halfway to Everywhere and Welcome To The Goodtimes on there are unforgettable.

Rollum Easy is my go to tune on Brothers..... Just hearing those guys harmonize is something to behold. They have really similar voices but with different qualities that blends just amazingly. Sven doin the high parts on the newer stuff is pretty neat too.

Warpaint dvd is cool from what I've seen. Haven't really ever sat down and watched it. Freak n Roll is just amazing to me. The performance is totally killer. Who Killed That Bird left somethin to be desired for me.

Also a Warpaint Live vinyl....Been wantin to snag it.

Anybody picked up the TSHAMC reissue on vinyl. Heard bad things, just wondered if anybody had any good luck...SYMM and Amorica are on their way, so hopefully those have some redeeming qualities.

I like when he really gets into it during that last chorus on Driving Wheel and you can her the crowd start whooping at him. Its awesome.

Maybe they will do a few shows like this during the hiatus.

Soul Singing too. I just wish Chris's voice had been in better shape for that show. Marc Ford kills on it though.

True, but his voice wasn't terrible, I thought. Marc indeed does slay in that show.

Croweology? Yes. But I'm a very big Crowes fan.

If you're an only casual fan, maybe not...but there is still some fantastic music on their regardless.

Luther is incredibly underrated. Dude is great.
NMA is in my top five bands. If you really wanted to dive off in there really good, a good place to start might be the Do It Like We Used To live collection. Also, their Mississippi Folk Music Vol.1 is chock full of acoustic country blues goodness. Bad ass.
Tell you what, when you go about the business of getting Brothers of a Feather you might also be well served to obtain a copy of NMA's Keep on Marchin' dvd...good times. Cody jamming on the electric washboard alone is worth the price of admission

Great, now there are four pieces of epicness I need to get:

NMA - Keep on Marchin' DVD
Crowes - Brothers of A Feather and Warpaint Live DVD
    DBT - 40 Watt DVD
    7/2/06 - Denver, CO
    6/12/08 - Tampa, FL
    8/23/09 - Chicago, IL
9/28/09 - Salt Lake City, UT (11 years too long!!!)
    9/03/11 - East Troy, WI - PJ20 - Night 1
    9/04/11 - East Troy, WI - PJ20 - Night 2

I am familiar with N.M. Allstars...sweet bluesy stuff. Haven't heard much, but what I have I really really enjoyed. Knowing Luther was in on it really made me search for them.

Am I the only one who feels that Luther is incredibly underrated? Did a great job filling the void of Marc Ford.

    Ain't it a bitch!
You'll be glad when you do though
Also, the Do It Like We Used To set has a great documentary with it that is very cool.
Damn, I'm sure trying to spend a lot of your money for you when I don't even have enough myself!
All I have to do is revel in the everyday....then do it again tomorrow

They say every sin is deadly but I believe they may be wrong...I'm guilty of all seven and I don't feel too bad at all

Yeah, but it's worth it. 98% of the time I buy music or music DVD's I don't regret it.

Except for that entire Nickelback discography I bought, wow...really should've thought that one through. ;)

For the record, I own nothing associated with Nickelback.
