Got back home from Europe yesterday and The Open'er Festival was my last show for the tour.
I went into it not knowing what to expect other than I thought the show would be a greatest hits show for certain. (...and it was.) I met some very passionate Pearl Jam fans that were very hospitable and I very much enjoyed their company before the show began. Let me first say these festival shows are a bit insane. In my opinion the festival was understaffed and communications sucked for the large number of people. Let me explain the cashcard/coupon piece as you had to exchange your cash for coupon's or a preloaded credit card to pay for everything. The lines were very long and the idea was if you didn't use the cash or coupons you were shit out of luck at the end. If you were camping and staying for the entire festival it might not be that bad. The poster was pretty cool but I skipped it to avoid going back in line again for cashcard/coupons.
I started in front of Mike 2-3 rows and then about 5-6 songs into it I grabbed 3 girls that asked for help getting out they were getting crushed and I pulled them out with me. The local youngsters had no regard for others around them. Very rude in my opinion. I then went way right on Stone's side and rocked out for the rest of the show. I heard some people saying they should not have hired such and old band to headline!
In the future I would recommend to others to skip the festivals and hit the PJ only shows for certain.
I did meet Stone's carbon credit adviser in the airport going to Warsaw. He was on the stage for the show but agreed with me on the lack of organization and understaffed issues. Lastly, using a pliers mounted on a piece of wood to squeeze metal around 80,000 bracelets? Got to be a much better, faster way to do this festival people! Did I mention the band fucking rocked too!
Ah, yes, I forgot to mention; this was my fourth Pearl Jam show, but the first time I've noticed Stone actually smiling properly ^^
I was at the Open'er all four days, and after the first day you learned where to go to avoid queues(spelling?). Also, the Kasabian-show on Saturday was insane. So many people stayed and danced in front of the stage long after the band had left, all shouting the tune of the final song (Lost souls forever).
Well, I have to admit, I am not Wishlist' forum member:) I just bought the T-shirt before Berlin show, during the trip, on one parking from the guys.
But I read on Wishlist board that after Gdynia show many people asked about them (I mean T-shirt), and they decided, I guess, to not make more these green T-shirts for people outside the board. The forum made special tour T-shirts for a few years and they dind't have to make them more after first edition(I don't know the verb in english) so they don't see a reason why this year may to be other way.
I'm sorry
shame
because it s a cool shirt
Demented and sad, but social

Good review. I kind of liked Łąki Łan, they seemed to be having a good time and the polish crowd was well into it. Not something I will listen to at home, though
I think Skunk Anansie sucks. Just completely crap music, imho. But I had to listen to them from very close to the stage because of Kasabian, which was my favourite concert of the festival.

No harm in that
I think my impression of Skunk wasn't bettered by the fact that I was surrounded by emo teens the whole concert. They disappeared before Kasabian, thankfully ^^
I looked at the price of bootlegs and said I wouldn't buy them this year but I caved in eventually...
I'm looking forward to listening to this show when I need a boost.
Only went to the PJ nite, was a bit of chaos gettin in, concert was great though. Saw a band was stayin at my hotel but it was Kasabian, not PJ. Too bad.
