Grunge Is Dead book

I really enjoyed this book, read it for the first time this past winter. I've been re-reading some of the more interesting (Pearl Jam, Nirvana, etc) chapters as well. Definitely painted PJ in a different light for me...in a good way. I love reading Mark Arm talk about the differences of touring with Nirvana (my all time favorite band) and Pearl Jam. I, too, would have assumed that the Nirvana camp had way more of a lax, punk rock kinda attitude than PJ and it was neat to see that wasn't the case.

Great book. Love the fact that it is written in the quotes of the people directly involved with the Grunge scene. Can't really argue the facts when it is written in interview form.

Great book. Read it last summer during the great rainy CT summer days. Loved the book. Couldn't put the book down once I started really getting into it. I loved the stuff on Layne Staley. I felt so sad for him. Like youngster said, like the way it's in quote form.

It's a really great, involving read. I never read any of the Pearl Jam books that are out there but I don't think there'd be any point after reading this.

I just picked up this book today and starting reading it. So far, I like the way it is all stories from the actual people. Cool so far. :D Almost finished Chapter 3. :geek:

The Layne Staley stuff was definitely a real downer.

Very interesting that when PJ (Mookie Blaylock then) hit the scene, they werent very appreciated nor liked. People thought they were just an 80s project and seemed to be the end of Jeff and Stone. Some people realized how amazing they were, but not everyone, once they took off though, it was PJ and Eddie Fever. I wouldnt recommend buying if youre only interested in the PJ parts, just borrow it then cuz theres only about 20 pages total on PJ, and its mainly stuff you would find in 5 against 1, but very cool read nonetheless.

So many good bands covered...I love TAD, was good to see a little about them as well.
