hard rock cafe show?

I saw a good friend last night and he told me that a friend of his (that´s right a friend of my friend...) told him he went to a hard rock cafe (my friend can´t remember the city) for some beers after some classes he was taking at the time in the usa.

So he ordered a beer and on a flyer on the table he read that PJ would be playing in that bar the next night. So he asked the waiter about it and confirmed he wasn´t delusional. He bought a ticket in the street and turned out to be a 3 hour show with about 300 people in the bar!

It was this year. I figured this was the place to confirm such a thing.

    I don't understand.

Are you telling us this happened?

    or

Are you trying to confirm this happened?

I may be mistaken, but band of horses who opened for pearl jam played the hard rock in toronto I think the day after the Buffalo show. That's how rumours start.

My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Ferris pass out at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it's pretty serious. 8-)

with the power of social networking sites, no advertised Pearl Jam show would have only 300 people show up with a 24 hour advance notice.

My friend told me he was going to show him the pictures. I will call him up and tell him to make him email a few so we could all confirm this unrealistic event.

So, there were rumours about it?

The only thing I can confirm is that I wasn't there if it did happen.

But... if it did happen everyone one here would know about it. We all found out the same day when eV played a solo show for the Cisco corporation's (or whoever that was) top sales people in Hawaii, and when PJ played those few songs for Target corporation's employees in Minnesota. Both of those things happened within the last year.

Additionally we all knew about PJ filming their video for the Fixer when people in the audience mentioned it in tweets/on blogs, and someone posted a recording of the song (captured from outside the venue). If I'm not mistaken, all that was known within 24-48 hrs of it happening.

My point is that this band pretty much can't do anything in this day and age without everyone finding out about it.

To me this absence of corroborating evidence is proof enough that it didn't happen. Someone out of those 300 people would have had a cell phone with a camera, no?

When he told me I did not believe it either. This guy is a reporter from here (guatemala) that was taking some classes the newspaper he works for made him take in the states. It would be very strange for the guy to make that up, just like that. He even told him he had pictures.

Enough said. If he makes some excuses for not having the pictures he already said he did, then he will look like an ass. And in the end, so will I, before you.
