Low Light.
Best version I've ever heard.
The way he finished the song in the last 45 seconds or so is very powerful.
"oh I don't NEED the light"
and the final note, which I believe to be "I SEE" is just amazing.
I love when he holds the notes in random places....just amazing

  • I cant get over that show as a whole. Nothingman....wow....I have a whole new appreciation for that song. The crowd was soooo freakin loud in that place it wasnt even funny. Satan's Bed amazing (ed even says "tight" at the end of the song, thats how on point that shit was)...I was originally upset b/c they weren't playing the meadows...i really like the outdoor venues....but after that show, I'd go to the XL Center any day....Personally, i think this show is waay underrated...maybe im biased cuz i was there?? IDK but in my eyes, MSG 2 doesnt even hold a candle to this show. Slow lukin is beautiful, but Hartford....right now, I think its my fav PJ show that i was in attendance for...and ive seen some good ones (and the op has too!! we've got quite a few shows in common!!) Boston was amazing too, (THANK YOU PJ FOR THE UPGRADE TO 9TH ROW CENTER IN BOSTON...COULDNT TAKE MY EYES OFF EDDIE) but for SOLAT/Aint Talkin Bout Love/Porch....what an amazing trio of songs that was...and to think...we were there for an OTOTO :D:D:D

    Love this freakin band!!!

I definitely love Low Light from this show and it made me love the song even more. I still get chills from that last note ("I Seeeeeeee"). Nothingman was fantastic. As the other person wrote, the crowd was definitely insane. The boot definitely does the crowd justice. I was happy like a little kid on Christmas morning when they started Crazy Mary. That was definitely an insane version of that, with an extended solo by Mike after him and Boom dueled. And have to agree with the OTOTO :D . That was special. When Ed started talking about OTOTO, I thought they were going to play Whale Song for the Whalers, but then he started saying stuff about the UConn women and how nasty they are. Just to correct Eddie, they've won 78 games in a row, 2 championships in a row, and 2 undefeated seasons in a row. :ugeek:

This night was just amazing in so many ways. Now I'm gonna have to listen to the boot.

I've read some complaints about the quality of the boots.
This boot makes you feel like you were there, or if you were actually there, it captures that same feeling.

    LowLight
Nothingman with the crowd singing so loudly...
    Awesome Jeremy

I still have the second boot to listen to...I'm just so jacked up after a few plays of disk one!!!!!

Probably the boot I listen the most to from 2010. Hopefully they play the XL center again in 2011.

I'm a 37 year old man, and my eyes welled up with tears and I got chills when he finished the end of Low light.....
I try not to ever look at the lyrics...I try to figure them out or make them up...I don't exactly know what he's singing at the end...something like "I don't need the light, I'll find my way"...(then I can't figure it out)..then I have always thought "your dream I see"

Again, I might be way off...but I got the gist...even in the lowest light, he can see/feel the love
But the way he hits those notes on NEED and SEE is just fantastic....

It's ashame that the mixing of this show is awful, possibly one of the worst I have ever heard. It was a good show, but I can never listen to it again. Nothingman, even with the awful mix sounds good.

Ed did the Jesus Christ pose when he held that last note on lowlight btw ...

Loved this show but I don't know about the other posters coments about crazy Mary... Kind of a lame solo and as I
mentioned in another thread, mike had guitar problems from the start and didn't really kick into his typical intensity until ain't talkin bout love / eruption

I am psyched that this show got another thread. This was my first show after listening for 20 years... I can't count how many times I have listened to the boot. It is currently the soundtrack to my 40 minute daily commute. I have not been "closely" listening lately... mostly just absorbing. But after all of these posts... I have some things to listen to. I knew I had picked a great first show when he busted his mic 4 songs in during Got Some.
Low Light was a relatively unknown song to me until this show... amazing!

I'm not going to disagree with the quality of the performance of Low Light in Hartford, mainly because it's one of my favorite songs, but I would encourage you to listen to the versions from DC and it's either Chicago or Boston, both from 2006. Your ears will thank you.

Oh yes it is! Great show, great night, and probably the single most random cover ever. It was fantastic.

    Well here are some lyrics:
I heard the news baby, all about your disease
Yeah you may have all you want, baby, but I got somethin' you need

What could they be saying with that?

    Here are some more lyrics:
You know you're semi-good lookin', and on the streets again
Oh yeah you think you're really cookin' baby, you better find yourself a friend

I can only assume what maybe these would mean. I have seen a team picture! Did Ed?

I don't know. I hope at least Jeff has since "Jeff is the expert". I have seen Caroline Doty in person at Storrs last year and she is far from "semi-good lookin'". She is really good lookin'.
